Terry Sanford's girls basketball was a game shy of reaching its second consecutive NCHSAA 3A championship game but fell to Western Alamance on Monday night in an unusual performance as the defending 3A East champ.
And while the Bulldogs may not have made it to the state title game, one particular senior who's represented the red, white, and blue has a lot to hang her hat on after ending her high school career as Terry Sanford's winningest player in school history at 102-16.
Breonna Roaf has been Terry Sanford's 'point goddess' from the first day she stepped on campus, and the Winston-Salem State commit's legacy is solidified and can't be duplicated, especially by another player in the No. 12 jersey at Terry Sanford.

BULLDOGS' FOURTH ROUND WIN: Terry Sanford's 'Fab Four' combines for 70; advance to back-to-back 3A East Regionals
"She's the winningest player in Terry Sanford history, and she's the leader in assists: As long as I'm here at Terry Sanford, there won't be another player that plays in the number 12," coach Chris Goodman said about his star.
As a freshman, Roaf was the starting point guard for the Bulldogs and helped lead them to a 30-1 season that led to a 3A East Regional loss to Northwood, which went on to become 3A champion. She averaged 6.9 assists that season to lead the team. In the following three seasons, Roaf was a catalyst for her team getting to two more 3A East Regional finals and a state championship game as a junior.
This season, Roaf averaged 7.9 assists, which is second in the state according to MaxPreps, and she has 820 to finish out her career and place first in school history in total assists.
"She has had one heck of a career here (Terry Sanford) and truly was a Bulldog through and through," Goodman said.
The Bulldogs have a bulk of young talent that has surrounded Roaf over the last two years, like junior Ameya Brown and sophomore Jaidiah Blake, but for Goodman, replacing Roaf is impossible.
"We won't be able to replace a player like Bre," he said. "You don't replace her, because she does so much for us."
Here's a list of Breonna Roaf's career achievements at Terry Sanford.
