Will Hightower be back?

Hightower has not signed his RFA tender offer. Only one on the team not to.

His agent is feverishly trying to find a deal from another team, and by all accounts the Cardinals are just fine with that.

Sure he signed a 2nd round tender, but we could always accept less then that just as easily.

Question is, do you think there is a team out there that will make him an offer and give up a draft pick for him(no matter how low it is)? At this point in time I say probably not. Especially with Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Snelling, and Cedric Benson still on the market. If those guys get snatched up sooner rather then later maybe something can happen, but still probably a long shot.

Just might be something to watch as next week goes on.

Do you blame him? He could lose a lot of playing time this year with Williams on the team. All would take is Beanie improving and Wells doing what he should, and Timmy is down playing time and making less money as a free agent next year.

I think he has zero draft pick trade value.

Maybe a backup player from another team? IMO that's the only scenario since there are comparable backs still on the market, and a few (Snelling) that are quite a bit better than he is.

Send him to Philly.

Hell... everyone's going there and I believe they need a number 2 back.

Problem is running backs that go for 750yds and drop the ball too much come in the 6th rd now a days...I love Timmy and he has more value as a second fb slash 4th rb for us this year.

Like Hightower, but he fumbles too much. Period. BTW, Wells fumbles too much. Period. as well.

With Ryan Williams on the roster, we can spare Wells or Hightower. A 2nd round pick for Hightower would be great, IMO.

But if Hightower leaves I still like our RB situation.

Wells
Williams
LSH
[Moore]

1. I have no problem with LSH getting more touches in a game. I don't want him carrying the load, but it would be OK with me to get him the ball a little bit more.

2. *** The Steeler connection: We could sign Mewelde Moore. Special team dynamo, decent RB, can play FB. etc. etc.

Boosh!

I'll never forget the winning TD he scored in the NFC championship game. And, his runs on fourth down and third down to move the chains on that drive. For that, he has my eternal gratitude. Same play last year however, he would've dropped the pass.

He can go, I'm fine with it.

Not as comfortable as all of you are with our RB position. Wells has had injury issues and after him a rookie. I would keep TH for this year.

I'm definitely fine with keeping him, but he has to sign the deal. if he doesn't, we'll need to pick someone up to help with the load during camp and preseason. At the very least.

He might be back, but he's not doing himself any favors by not signing his tender. We know how Whis feels about such moves.

Plus, there's no realistic way all these RBs are going to get enough carries. My guess is that he'll eventually be traded for a low draft pick once an injury hits another team.

Team already stated per somers that they aren't concerned about it because he couldn't practice until 4th anyway.

Agee, just waiting to see if someone will make him a better offer. He will resign with the Cards and be there on the 4th.

Don't really care if he signs or gets traded. There are plenty of backs out there that could contribute as much as he does.

Actually Somers reported that the Cards are ok with him testing the market and not signing the tender right now as even if he did sign, he couldn't do anything till the 4th anyway. So there seems to be no sense of urgency right now. Oops sorry Shane didn't see your post above.

No more drops Timmy, Whiz doesn't have another year to talk his way out. You got wheels and skills, your a Whiz guy, but that first fumble will knock you to the back of the play call. Fumble-itus is the only thing that is unacceptable at the RB position. William's game mimics Beanie's game more than yours, we could still use your skillset here in Az.

I always liked the guy - great effort and great attitude. But, you're not actually running the ball if you keep fumbling it. I'd like to get something in return for him if possible, but I think we're better off sending him packing regardless.

Pure coach speak. What else do you expect them to say, I mean seriously? Hightower can actually wait until August 12th to sign his tender offer.

And he could do a lot before August 4th. Film room, classroom, meetings, and so on are a very important aspect of camp. If it weren't why have the 19 players not allowed to practice there in the first place, until August 4th?

They didn't scout a butt load of RB's and end up drafting a 2nd round RB for nothing, there are definitely some who despite the long shot are hoping he can find a deal out there. Said it before we even draft Williams, and it hasn't changed.

Sure he signed a 2nd round tender

Wait, did he sign the tender or not? I think not. But he was offered a 2nd round tender, right? So where does his not signing it leave him? Can another team sign him? I can't remember the ramifications under the old CBA, let alone the new CBA.

Learning a new system. Unless we've drastically changed our offense this isn't a concern for him.

I'd still prefer he were there - unless we got something for him
