NASHVILLE — Lamont Butler is apparently battling his shoulder injury.
Butler, Kentucky basketball's starting point guard, departed in the middle of the first half of Thursday's second-round SEC Tournament game against Oklahoma. Butler went to the team's locker room.
UK coach Mark Pope told SEC Network sideline reporter Molly McGrath that Butler was "getting imaging" done; Pope did not specify the nature of Butler's ailment, but UK's radio announcers confirmed the imaging was done on the California native's nagging left shoulder injury.
Butler returned to the floor and rejoined the rest of the Wildcats during a timeout with 13:03 remaining. He did not reenter the game, however, sitting on the bench in his warmup gear.
