To essential question is... Will Wayne be returning himself? That is somewhat in doubt, but perhaps will be known immediately after the Stanley Cup has been decided...
I was very elated when the Coyotes hired Tochhet because he was highly-regarded as a player which allowed him to gain respect and I honestly believe if it wasnt for this scandal, he would be poised to be Wayne's successor as coach since this provided him an opportunity to become familiar with the climate of the organization, the surroundings of AZ, and also allowed him to have a good rapport with the veterans and the prospects that are on the horizon... He was being perfectly molded until this nonsense happened and I dont think he will overcome all of this...
He will always be under immense scrutiny and that could really distract all the players and detract away from what they're trying to gain here.. continuity and much needed stability... He will always attract some 3-ring circus and unfortunately this is a stigma that would last...
I honestly would compare him to Wally Backman in the sense that both would have been ideal in their respective sports as a manager consisting of younger players, but ruined themselves by engaging in rather severe off-the-field/ice misconduct with severe consequences....
