McPherson is a wild card in this draft.

I'm going with the Cardinals in the 2nd round. They need a QB. Green himself knows what it is like to be shunned due to character issues, so he could relate to McPherson better than most NFL coaches. He is also more of a known quantity playing wise than the other QBs. At least he has shown he can comprehend a faster game (the AFL). Something that none of the others can say, and probably the biggest stumbling block to QBs making it in the NFL.

I doubt the Cards will draft a QB in the first four rounds. Too many other needs to fill. Maybe next year's draft, depending on how Warner and Josh do this year.

I think it is more than character issues. I don't believe he has what it takes to run an offense in the NFL.

I doubt we draft one this year when we still have 2 young QB's (Navarre and Lewis.) I would still like to see what Navarre can do in a full regular season game when he isn't injured. He only missed 1 or 2 passes last preseason and played well against the Lions before hurting his hand.

I wish we would, but I don't think it'll happen this year. I'd love to have the Cards draft McPhearson or Frye, but we won't be even sniffing at the QB position I fear.

Slope,
I voted no because I don't think that he will get drafted by the Cards but I do feel that we will regret not drafting him. I would love it if we drafted him.

One never knows what the Cardinal board looks like or their book on McPh, but - particularly in light of their inaction in landing a RB and CB in free agency to this point - they have too many other roster holes to fill than to go trolling for QB's until at least midway thru the second day (if that).

Not going to happen for him till second day. Rounds 4- through 6. We just don't have the need this time around. Josh played well at the end of last season with a new line and basically no RB. Warner is the heir apparent and if he can do it he will have the rock for a couple of years. Then there is the real unknown in Navarre who 2-3 years from now might be a starting QB, for this we have to be patient.

I'm in the "McPherson will eventually be a Pro Bowl QB" camp. Taking him in the 3rd round would be perfect. I'd love to see the Cards draft him at any point, but it'd be a bit of a reach in the 2nd.

"Don't draft a QB, too many other needs to fill"? Um, didn't that rational lead us to passing on Roethlisberger and Leftwich the last couple of years? At some point, don't we have to bite the bullet and bring in a QB?

Unless Warner's got 5-6 years left him in him or McCown learns to read a defense, I think its time to groom a QB of the future.

Get everything in place and then look for the QB. If we have to draft a QB, then I want him to come into the best situation possible so that he can succed.
