TUCSON - Former University of Arizona quarterback Willie Tuitama has been arrested on suspicion of extreme drunken driving.

Tucson police arrested Tuitama early Sunday after a McDonald's worker flagged down a police sergeant, saying a customer who just left the drive-through window may have been impaired. .prWrap,.prWrap DIV,.prWrap TABLE,.prWrap TABLE TBODY,.prWrap TABLE TR,.prWrap TABLE TD,.prWrap IMG{margin:0px 0px 0px 0px;padding:0px 0px 0px 0px;border:0px 0px 0px 0px;overflow:visible;direction:ltr;background:none;background-color:transparent;}

Police spokesman Officer Chuck Rydzak says the officer saw Tuitama run a red light and pulled him over.

Tuitama was cited for running a red light and was arrested for DUI and extreme DUI.

He was released into the custody of a third person and his car was impounded. Tuitama finished his senior season as Arizona's starting quarterback this past season, when he led the Wildcats to their first bowl game in a decade.

He also had an underage consumption citation early in his career if I recall correctly.

Not to make light of something as serious as DUI but who cares on this board other then the ASU guys coming to rub it in? Hes not on the team anymore, it doesn't effect anything next year, and he has blown what was a slim chance in the NFL.

Stupid decision Tui. Some lessons are only learned the hard way.

But I care about this as much about this as I do about Barkley getting popped.

I haven't seen anyone rubbing anything in

I could see your point if someone said "typical UofA" but nothing like that has been said. I heard on the radio that he was in a McDonalds drive thru trying to get a McRib when the drive through guy flagged down a cop. LOL

I'm sorry, but wasn't it a UofA fan on this board that talked about Rudy getting busted for being drunk and disturbing at a high school girls basketball game? Both our (former) qb's are morons...

UofA has nothing on ASU until they add a few more 1st degree murders! They can't complete with ASU on the hard court or the legal court

I don't care if the guy played at the UofA, ASU or wherever, whoever drives drunk is a complete moron and loser. I don't care that he is putting his life in danger but I care that there are innocent people who he could hurt seriously.

It's amazing how many people drive drunk. It's like playing Russian roulette and unfortunately many innocent people get hurt. When I am driving at night, especially on Friday and Saturday, I am so conscious of every car and how they are driving. I think the laws need to be harder on drunk drivers because you see many of them being arrested more than once for a DUI.

haha of course. the invisible man Griffin that is controlling everything. I forgot about him...:mulli:

He's not invincible, the Suns own website and anyone close to the team will tell you Griffin is a huge part of the personnel decisions most notably the draft.

Sarver is a complete clown and ultimately deserves the most blame but there's more to the Suns demise than Steve Kerr who admittedly is a poor GM. The Igoudala/Deng debacle, Joe Johnson whiff, Marcus Banks bust, and Rajon Rondo trade all were pre-Kerr and fall squarely on the shoulders of Griffin, D'Antoni, and Bryan Colangelo and any one of those moves done correctly probably wins the Suns a title or two.

It is my fault though to expect you to read between the lines, dissect media coverage, and know people who aren't court-charging dorm nerds.

i said invisible, not invincible. you should hang out with these supposed court-charging dorm nerds. And i forgot, Mao has all the inside scoop. He knows Jesus is UofA's next coach, he's inside the Suns front office, and probably the guy the Cards are about to bring in to help Graves.

Extreme DUI will not keep Tuitama from a shot at the NFL. Get real. Teams overlook those things if the guy can play.
