:raccoon::cheers::clapping:

Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following last Sunday’s 24-17 victory at the New York Giants.

Wilson had five tackles, including two for loss, an interception, a fumble recovery, and two passes defensed in the victory.

The interception off Eli Manning came in the third quarter with the Cardinals clinging to a three-point lead. The INT gave Arizona’s offense the ball at the Giants 20-yard line and led to the game winning touchdown three plays later. The fumble recovery was also pivotal. Trailing by seven points with under four minutes to play, the Giants were driving when running back Ahmad Bradshaw reached the Arizona 44-yard line on a run, but fumbled at the end and Wilson alertly pounced on the loose ball to end the threat.

Wilson’s interception was the 19th of his career, leaving him both one sack and one INT short of becoming the ninth player in NFL history to have at least 20 sacks and 20 interceptions in a career.

Wilson was the third Cardinal this season to be named player of the week, joining defensive end Calais Campbell and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

The Cardinals host Carolina (2-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium

Congrats to Wilson.

Maybe this game will get the monkey off his back. He is definately feeling the pressure of the high expectations, the big contract, and the new attention he has been getting from the national press.

Hopefully he will loosen up a little and just play his game from here on out.

Congrats A-Dub! I bet he would like to share this honor with the rest of the defense. As they all rised to the occasion.

Wow, 2 weeks in a row a Cardinal wins it.

It was a tough choice between Rolle and ADub - but well deserved!

Wilson definitely made some great plays in the Giants game... i'm glad he received the award, and hope he continues to make the kinds of plays that enable him to win DPOW awards in the future....

I'm just a little concerned about the praise being heaped upon him now, considering that both his interception and fumble recovery in the Giants game were balls that basically bounced right to him after someone else made a great play... and that when Wilson himself made a great read and play on the ball, he dropped a sure interception. Plus, in the Giants game he got yet another offsides penalty, continuing a trend.

Again, i really appreciate the good things Wilson has been doing. I just think there are some concerns about his play this year.

On every single snap Eli Manning was pointing out where Wilson was. He is a disruptive force.
