Wilson wants to re-sign

Today MJ or as some call him The Mushroom, talked about Wilson and getting him re-signed. He said that he talked to Wilson a few days ago and Wilson stated that he has already approached Graves personally to tell him he wants to sign a new deal with the Cards during the season and be a Card for a long time. When asked why he wants to re-sign so badly he told MJ that he wants to resign becuase he has totally bought into Green and the D staff and their philosophy and doesnt want to move from AZ. He also stated that Graves and Wilsons agent have said that they will start discussions sometime in October.

Better news than just Wilson wanting to re-sign is the reason for this desire. We've heard a lot about potential problems with the way Green is running the show---this goes a long way to settle my nerves about that.

Wilson has developed into arguably our best defensive player. He singlehandedly (quite literally!) kept us in the game Sunday against the Falcons, and he's made strides to overcome mental lapses. Lock him up!

Adding Macklin, Starks and a pass rush has definitely improved the secondary, and Wilson in a contract year appears to finally get it.

What is interesting is the same guy who reports that Wilson wants to stay here because of Green, reported a few months ago that Solomon's first 2 moves as DB coach were to tell Wilson to drop 10 pounds because he was moving to CB, and tell Green to cut or trade Starks because he was too frail to be counted on, and would be replaced by Wilson. Jurecki reported then that Wilson was unhappy with the plan.

Whoever is coaching Wilson this year does deserve praise, but IMHO getting a healthy Starks and a solid CB in Macklin has made a lot of difference for AW too. I said it last year when Starks got hurt it would cost us several wins not having one legit starter at CB on the roster.

I agree we should definitely get Wilson a new deal.

I know that I've firmly believed that he was for real......just as I did that D.Johnson was/is.......as I did/do Michael Stone...................................................

and as I do Wendall Bryant and Calvin Pace.

There really are a lot of "fairweather" fans in this so called "fan club"..........

And to call me a fairweather fan is almost as laughable as you saying last year that Rudi Johnson wouldn't even be on our roster prior to the Cincinnati game . . . pardon me if I don't heap praise upon everyone who puts a Cardinal jersey and would rather see them do something on the field to warrant kudos . . . it's fun knowing I get under your skin this much though - tee hee!

Did I ever say I didn't say the above phrase? No - I said it and I meant it - I still think that post was useless and said so in the proper forum . . THE ACTUAL THREAD - so what's your point? I didn't go crying into other threads about it. I take it you didn't go to law school Spank cause your defense just now sucked.
