So many jokes, so little time.

"I think there is an education problem with younger players. And certainly (in) my postbag ... if you say 'what do you get most letters about,' I would say that grunting is high up," he said.

Noise machines recorded 21-year-old Victoria Azarenka, of Belarus, grunting at 95 decibels in her match against Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova on Monday. That is still some way short of the loudest recorded grunt which came from Maria Sharapova in 2009 and measured 105 decibels.

"We are aware, whether you are watching it on TV or here, people don't particularly like it," Ritchie added. "We are one tournament in a global circuit. But we have made our views clear and we would like to see less of it."

1. Maria's neighbor's have been complaining about the grunts for years...
2. Wimbledon boss: "I wish those girls would just lay there and be nice and quiet like my wife does..."

I've got more but I wanna see some ASFN hilarity...

Am I the only one who finds this story AND the grunting incredibly comical?

They teach that. We play tennis at a local park and one of the courts is often reserved for private lessons, usually for kids often Indian or Chinese American kids.

We have literally heard the coach telling them you need to hit it harder if you're really giving me 100% you'll be grunting when you hit it. I assume the coach thinks it's a cultural thing and the Indian and Chinese kids are raised to be quieter or something.

I much prefer the grunts to the squealing the French lady was doing after she beat Serena and today when she won the 2nd set in her match. Just eardrum piercing.

Tennis is still the only sport where I absolutely prefer the womens game to the mens, and it's not even close, because there's more rallies and more strategy.

It would definitely be more interesting if they mixed in a few moans and sighs.

I have a ten year old cousin who said her tennis teacher told her she should have a signature grunt. :)
