The Wisconsin Badgers fell short of punching their ticket to the Sweet 16 this past weekend as they fell to the BYU Cougars, end the Badgers' solid season.

The Badgers were led by a team focused effort from big men to backcourt players, including John Tonje, one of the nation's most unheralded stars who put the Badgers on his back and carried them several times this past season to big wins.

Tonje's late game efforts fell short on a questionable call against the Cougars, but the Madison trained star doesn't appear to harbor a bit of bitterness as he prepares for the next chapter of his life and basketball career.

"Thank you Wisconsin...All Glory to God for this life changing experience!!" Tonje said in an X post.

He included a longer message on Instagram as he expounded on the situation.

"It has truly been an honor and dream come true to represent Wisconsin," the Badgers guard said.

"The family, experiences, lessons, and memories I have developed here in Madison are ones I will never forget and runs way deeper than just basketball.

"I'm forever in debt to my teammates, coaches, and supporters, who made this year so special!! Love yall!!" he added with the number nine and the word "out."

Tonje is ranked 52nd on Jonathan Givony of ESPN's NBA draft Big Board heading into this year's event.
