SAN FRANCISCO–Giants second baseman Joe Panik is on the 10-day disabled list, but he’ll likely miss much more than a week and a half. Manager Bruce Bochy said Panik will fly to Los Angeles Sunday to have Dr. Stephen Shin offer a second opinion on his injured thumb. “There is a good chance he’s heading toward surgery,” Bochy said. “But we are going to get that second opinion before that happens.” Panik injured his left thumb applying a tag on Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig on a pickoff attempt at second base on Friday night, and was placed on the disabled list Saturday morning.
