This was an obvious "work-in-progress" type of game, and I think King needs to start next week.

Here's my observations:

Roundtree needs to be cut. He looked horrible.

Josh Mc looked scared. NOT GOOD. King had the better game, but King really wasn't anything special.

Poole deserves a spot on this team. He had a couple of great catches. Fitz looked good.

Emmitt looked good, but he doesn't seem very durable. He ended up with a bruised thigh and didn't play much. He did have two great runs.

Kasper looked okay. He caught a couple of passes. McAddley and Gilmore didn't do anything.

Anderson might be Emmitt's back-up. IF CROOM PUTS ON 10 POUNDS OF MUSCLE, HE WILL BE A STUD. He had the longest run for us and looked good.

Defense sucked. Not much of a pass rush. KVB looked good, but a step too slow. Starks got burned for Moss's TD, but besides that play he looked good.

Harris looked good. He had a pick.

Wilson could be a Pro-Bowler his year.

Eventually the o-line settled down, but the WRs couldn't get opened.

Jones caught the one pass that went his way.

Josh is not looking for all of his options, and ends up freaking out in the pocket. He really didn't look good. I would not be surprised to see King practicing with the first team on Monday. King made a couple of audibles tonight which ended up getting us first downs. I don't think Josh audibled at all tonight.

Shelton got schooled for a sack.

L. Diamond looked good. He's a keeper.

Adrian Mayes from LSU is a playmaker in the rough.

Green put a lot of different formations on the field tonight. I think he is experimenting and adjusting to the players that are producing.

I think our offense will have a bunch of short passing routes in order to get the most out of Poole and Larry until Johnson or Boldin get healhy. We don't really have a long ball at this moment.

Green was always standing over our Offensive Coordinator's shoulder, right next to his ear. I thought this was funny.

I'M GLAD WE LOOKED BAD. IF WE LOOKED GOOD IT JUST WOULD SEEM TOO EASY.

Clement looked good, and Wells is a superstar. That guy is a keeper.

Fordyce missed the only field goal that he attempted.

I expect to see a different group of starters on offense and defense on Monday.

Wakefield got ANOTHER CONCUSSION. Concussions will end his career at the rate he keeps getting them.

Dockett and Bryant didn't do much of anything.

I am confident that next week we'll look better. Green will make adjustments.

Any team should show marked improvement from the first week to the second. I sure hope so. Lots of questions

On a positive note, I don't think Gilmore dropped a pass tonight, granted he didn't catch one either, but we have to start with baby steps. Remember, the fifth year is the charm

This is what I'm looking forward to. Let's see what Green does now that he has seen some of these guys in a game situation.

I think Croom is going to be a diamond in the rough for us... He'll be starting by the end of the season. Some of the runs he made were nice... Scobey looked good on kickoff returns but didn't do crap on offense. What was up with Anderson?

Has anything been mentioned about Crooms ability to pick up blitzes? This seems to be a key point to being Greens starting RB (See Shipp's demotion)

I never realy noticed but he can really catch the ball and knows were to find the soft zones. He could be a Larry Centers type back IMO. Not a runner but a good reciever.

That's like saying a Cobra bite might possibly ruin your vacation.

It could be worse. The US basketball team could lose by about 20 to Puerto Rico.

Starks didnt really give up the TD. Harris failed to come over and help.

Id like to see a list of plays where Harris did good other than the INT.

I dont think he did one thing right after that.

I think many fans have over expectations. A lot of this comes from the mouth of Dennis Green. He had us winning 10 games, going to the playoffs, and Josh McCown a potential great QB. Realistically none of this was in the "Cards". We had one of the worst teams in the league last year. Our running game is actually worse than it was and it was the worst last year. Our QB is a complete unknown quality. How do you proclaim greatness for a guy who started 3-4 games and is remembered for one game winning TD againist the Vikes. We were the worst is in sacks last year and had no sacks against the Vikes this past week and were sacked 7 times. Clearly this team is in a rebuilding process and Green at best should have kept quiet and gone about his job. If the Cards have really changed their approach to football we should be signing long term contracts to whoever we can build around. At some point we need a real NFL QB to build around. That has always been and always will be the key position. We have passed two years in a row on guys who might fill this role. You will unlikely get one in free agency although Delhome or Favre's do on occasion appear. Thing is they will rarely go to a team like the Cards. I think McCown will be like so many other QB's we have had. Will not be as good as Plummer who I did not like. This team really needs some long term thinking and planning. The new stadium is not long away and I only see a few players on this team who may be there to see it open. Green needs to cool it with his pronouncements and I do not care what Pete Kendall said he is better than most of what we kept. What kind of message does this send to other NFL players who might entertain an offer from the Cards next year?

I noticed that too SWD. We need Jackson back.
