The "bobcat" thread got hijacked into a WNBA discussion, so I'll start up a thread for the WNBA by itself.

My Mom went to a Mercury game...once. She came away commenting that she had never seen so many "women with wallets."

Hey I didn't hijack it! I just.. borrowed for a bit... :) I returned it though.

I had season tickets the first year, and that was the year I learned that mullets not only occupy a male's head, but a female's too. And crew cuts.

But still, I was 13 and watching females playing ball at a professional level was exciting, nonetheless.

How about Lauren Jackson against the Mercury?
What was it? 27 and 14? What a performance!

This is the third season I've been watching WNBA, and the quality of the game is improving.

Keep it up!

My respect for all of you just dropped down at least three notches. In fact, opening this thread to look at it at all has resulted in a completel loss of respect for myself.

Skorp,

Any way we can get a WNBA board here?
That way we can talk WNBA without offending any sexists here?

Thanks in advance,

Stefan

Geez, I like Axis and Allies but not Candyland--does that make me prejudiced against toddlers?

My girlfriend and I had tickets to the WNBA Liberty when we lived in Brooklyn last year. We also had tickets to the Knicks and the Rangers. And I will tell you that the Liberty could have kicked the Knicks ass anyday and everyday.

The Mercury, sorry to say - are horrible, but we have tickets anyway. In addition to Cards and we are going to get Suns and Coyotes miniplans.

The best thing about the Merc right now is Katye Christensen and Lisa Harrison.

AXIS AND ALLIES ROCKS!

I haven't played that game in probably ten years, but it must have been the most entertaining board game ever.

I still have a copy of that and also a computer version. My brothers and I used to play that all the time.

I've never been to a WNBA game. What kind of cheerleaders do they have?

I didn't lose respect for any of you for being women, I lost respect for you for watching a boring sport. I tried watching it a couple times. I couldn't stomach it. I think I'd react the same way if people started going off in a thread about tossing horse shoes.

Oh. I just saw all the stuff about "Axis and Allies". Can we just rename this thread "What the hell is going on?" and leave it at that?
