No. 2 seed Tennessee (27-7) will play No. 15 seed Wofford (19-15) Thursday during the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.

Tipoff between the Vols and Terriers is slated for 6:50 p.m. EDT and the game will be televised by TNT.

Thursday's game will mark a return to Rupp Arena for Wofford head coach Dwight Perry. He played at Kentucky from 2006-09 for head coaches Tubby Smith and Billy Gillispie.

Perry appeared in 19 games for the Wildcats and averaged 0.3 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.

He began his coaching career at Stanford as an intern from 2009-11. The former Wildcat later served as a graduate assistant at VCU from 2011-14 under head coach Shaka Smart.

Perry, 37, was also an assistant coach at Furman from 2014-19 before serving as an assistant coach for Wofford from 2019-22. He was promoted as the Terriers' associate head coach for the 2021-22 season. Perry was named interim head coach when Jay McAuley resigned after taking a month-long leave of absence. He was appointed interim head coach at Wofford on Dec. 5, 2022. The school removed his interim status on March 21, 2023.

Perry has a career head coaching record of 48-42 and he guided the Terriers to the 2025 Southern Conference Tournament championship.
