And just like that, Women's March Madness 2025 is about to come to an end—and everything has led to another NCAA championship face-off between the UConn Huskies and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Not going to lie, we're still reeling from both team's decisive Final Four victories on April 4. While UConn delivered a blistering defeat over UCLA (85—51), the Gamecocks soared into their championship spot by shutting down the Texas Longhorns (74—57). Now, just two days later, the top two women's college basketball teams are set to face off at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

This is bound to be a history-making game, with UConn's star player Paige Bueckers embarking on the final game of her college career as the South Carolina Gamecocks go for their second championship title in a row, which would also mark their third win in four seasons.

"Sometimes we create these narratives about great players–[Caitlin Clark] was one of them; Paige is one of them right now—and we tend to forget the narrative about what our kids have been able to do, going for their third in four years," University of South Carolina coach Dawn Staley said when asked about Bueckers' legacy during a press conference on April 5.

She continued, "I want the sentiments to be about our players and what our players have been able to do—equally, because there's room to do both. We can raise Paige up because she deserves that and raise our players up because they deserve that."

They certainly do! Here's everything you need to know about today's championship game, including how and when to watch the final game of women's March Madness 2025.

The game takes place on April 6 at 3 p.m. ET

That's today! The UConn Huskies faces off against the South Carolina Gamecocks at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

How to watch the UConn vs. South Carolina Championship Game

ABC will air the women's NCAA championships at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT. The game will also stream live on ESPN+ and Fubo.

Is there any history we should know about?

Well, this is technically a championship rematch as the Gamecocks defeated the Huskies for the title in 2022, winning 64-49. As for this season, UConn won their only matchup against South Carolina (87—58) back in February.

If UConn wins this game, Bueckers will enter the WNBA draft with a championship title. If the Gamecocks win, this will be their second victory in a row and their third in four seasons.

Who to watch

There's a reason Paige Bueckers is predicted to be this year's number one pick in the WNBA draft, from her incredible skills to her accomplishments on and off the court. Still, Bueckers is not the only player worth talking about. On her own team, senior Azzi Fudd and freshman Sarah Strong played pivotal roles in UConn's Final Four victory against UCLA.

Fudd scored 19 points in the first half, while freshman Sarah Strong scored 22 points with eight rebounds and two assists. In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Fudd has decided to forgo the 2025 WNBA draft, meaning we've still got plenty to look forward to from Connecticut next season.

On the South Carolina Gamecocks, we've got freshman Joyce Edwards, who earned a double-double in their last game against the Texas Longhorns with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Then there's junior Chloe Kitts, who was named the SEC Tournament MVP in 2025 and is hoping to secure her second consecutive NCAA Championship after last year's undefeated season.
