Tiger Woods apologized after he was fined an undisclosed sum by the European Tour on Monday for spitting during the final round of the Dubai Desert Classic. The tour said in a statement that tournament director Mike Stewart reviewed the matter and "feels there has been a breach of the tour code of conduct." He spit on a Green, not just any 'ol part of the course... The Green is scared. No divots... You fix your ball marks... You never stand in another player's line...
In any event, had he been playing on the PGA tour, I doubt he would've been fined. The European Tour is 100x more stringent and uptight than is the PGA tour. Still, Tiger knew what he was doing. He knows full well you never spit when on a Green. The dude is still not right in the noggin. I think that 3-iron he took from his wife upside his head could have caused permanent damage!
