It seems that everything possible is happening to damn the stadium.

From the Republic;Postponement possible

for stadium ceremony

GLENDALE - Evidently the Arizona Cardinals need a retractable dome just to get through the groundbreaking of their long-delayed stadium.

While their new building is being touted as multipurpose, the site for Tuesday's ground-breaking is suitable for a mud bog after Sunday's rain. Consequently, the Tourism and Sports Authority said Sunday that the Tuesday ceremony may be postponed.

The sports authority, Cardinals and Fiesta Bowl will inspect the site today and make a decision.

The area is on a former cotton field.

You know...I've got a flight to go down there tomorrow, and we're expecting a possible 20" of snow between tonight and Wednesday (I'm in Denver)...maybe this is a blessing (at least for me!)...

KDUS just announced that groundbreaking has been postponed due to heavy rains in the area..the stadium is not being delayed - no real work was scheduled until june - it is a ceremonial thing. I am sure they will try to reschedule for sometime prior to the owners meeting occuring (end of the month I think) at the biltmore since we are bidding on a super bowl and they wanted to have the groundbreaking prior..

The only ENCOURAGING thing about the article is this;

"The area is on a former cotton field"

what's that telling you? Well you know over the last few weeks we kept on hearing how the AZCardinals were closing on the land. Maybe that last sentence is telling us that the land is purchased, because I have heard no confirmation the land was yet closed on.

As I mentioned in another thread, Brad Parker of the TSA just called me a few minutes ago. He said the site is just a mess...

Gun,

Why are you so paranoid and want to jump the gun?

The stadium is NOT going to be halted, the Cards are NOT moving, and we WILL be playing in the new stadium in August of 2006.

This headline of "Work on stadium could be halted" is utter cow kaka. Do you also work for the National Enquirer?

No worries at all..........just ease back on the headlines like that :)

BTW: It is a beautiful day here in New York - 60 degrees and sunny - windows wide open and it feels hot! I think I have been away from AZ too long :)

Bad side: I am sick with a chest cold thingy......my first thought was that I hope I didn't contract that new virus that is going around........ that would be a big BALLS for me. You guys could always say that you "knew" someone who checked out with that if that is the case

I would be even more pissed because I would miss football season next year and that is just unacceptable!
