Would you trade Michael Floyd to the Browns for Karlos Dansby?

Just curious to see where people weigh in on this. Floyd will be a free agent after 2016 so it drops his trade value, but Dansby has one year left and is 30+.

edit: updated actual; contract. i forgot they picked up his option.
Tempting. But, just one thing wrong with the entire scenario; Dansby will be 34 early this November, next year will be his 13th in the league and half way through he'll hit 35. That's old for MLB's.

Diminishing returns! But he does play his best with the Birdgang!

Has anyone been watching Dansby with the Browns? Not the same player as he was a couple of years ago.

Right.

I'm reading this and wondering if some of the posters have actually been keeping up with Dansby. He hasn't played at that level since he left.

Havent watched him, but I think the same was said once he left the Fins back to the desert ;)

But playing on a poor Browns team doesn't help either.

He actually played really well in Miami. You can make a case his last year in Miami was the best of his career. His numbers dropped his first year in Cleveland by a lot he also only played in 12 games

Actually, the entirety of Danby's $6M signing bonus would accelerate on to Cleveland's cap this year, and he doesn't have any more guaranteed money left on his deal.

Bascially, you'd get the rest of this year for $3.25M fully guaranteed, and then you'd have two $5M option years that you can wait until the end of training camp to exercise.

That's less than you'd have to carry on Floyd's $7M option next year.

I think I'd make that deal in a heartbeat, and I'm a huge Michael Floyd supporter.

Yes, trading for postions of need from positions of depth is what being a good GM is all about. It's not really even about Floyd. He's a great player and we're probably letting a good one go that will hurt for years to come but sometimes you gotta make the tough calls in order to win RIGHT NOW. Well to win right now, we need help on D. :(

The Cardinals talk a lot about how this is the year and Carsons forthcoming expiration date, so one would think if there was a possibility of this they would be all over it.

Hey you know who would help out a ton right now? Darryl Freaking WASHINTON that worthless pile of crap! :( #Dwaste:bang:

Yeah, because the one thing we really need is another 30+ aging linebacker. C'mon guys. Sometimes I can't really tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

In a minute, only because we're in win-now-mode".

Which is exactly why the either neither to trade for an edge rusher or sign Dwight Freeney, otherwise this teams pass rushing woes are going to be magnified once we play better teams. I just can't see how our current Cards can contain or limit Wilson running all over the field & hitting us for big pass plays...just like last year.

Larry Foote would likely be our starting ILB right now in place of Minter if he hadn't retired. The lack of impact that we have on the inside is pretty wild. Our ILBs are so bad that we're playing a safety there.

What teams are offering up a quality pass rusher? Let me know.

Yup.

Keim laid an egg there. I can't even fathom why we didn't even attempt to draft a single ILB which was/still is one of our biggest weaknesses.
