that is great news...it says respect and it says people are now relating the Cards with winning

Winning = winning, if that means shelling out the money to players to keep the team winning...why not? the money spent on players gains far more money in various areas financially by putting a productive team on the field

It's still amazing to see how the fortunes of this franchise have changed over the last few years. The new stadium was the catalyst for all of it, that truly marked a new chapter in the history of the Cardinals..

It is truly amazing to watch the complete transformation of this team from the perennial winner of the Toilet Bowl, to a genuine contender for the Super Bowl. I am in awe of the changes that have occurred. Not only are we a new, vibrant, and welcome change in the NFL, but we are a team steeped in tradition, that has made great strides in bringing back our former HOF players and our past stars, and making them part of the organization's success.

It is soooooo cool to see stars like Adrian Wilson, wanting to have his number placed in the ring of honor with our former stars. This can only have positive implications to the younger players coming into the fold, and encourage them to follow suit and become a part of this (storied) club with the new stadium, the new uni's, the deep history, (much on display at the stadium for new fans to grasp and learn about), and the new popularity with the fans on the world stage. (To see this happen in a span of about 5 years is phenominal.)

Good star, but another 5-11 year would halt the growth of the fanbase.

Now they gotta "feed the machine"! Signing AW to an extension was a good start. Sign Dansby long term, maybe get Q a new contract, and get all the rookies in on time. I'm sure Mike B. loves to hear this and will work to extend this trend!!!!

It would have been fairly easy to get a high percentage increase because the Cards were so far down as a brand.

But it is great to see that we can now get the same fan gear the top NFL teams fans can, that we see our games on a national level and replayed on a par with those teams (though I wish they'd show one we won once in awhile!), and that news about the team is now far more readily available.

Which means more bandwagon hoppers. It doesn't seem right for fans that have been on the ship for many years. I guess you're going to have that tho.

Helps keep the stadium full, loud and red! We need to keep that place sold out, so other bandwagoners can see them now.

I have come to the realization that it should not matter.. I know where I have come from with this team.. The bandwagoners (we should call them new fans) cant do what I have done and they cant take it from me.. But, it always good to have friends in Cards red.. We as Diehards are the elder statesmen.. This new generation is the realization of what we all wanted.. Success.. As long as the new folk respect us elders and what we went through and put all they got into the Cards and never stray, I have zero problems with them..

there is a great deal about this team that is very likable to the general public--

a qb that in so many dimensions is a great guy, a great story and a high level performer

a wr that is arguably the best in the game and a humble, likable guy as well

an offense that is exciting to watch

reminds me of the Colts a while back -- many similiar attributes

Pretty much all that is dead.. One more year of this.. Whis is moving this team in a different direction then the Colts.. I hope you know that..

Bally’s Sports needs to go away
Our job as die hards is to teach the band wagoners how to be a fan. When to stand, how loud to yell, what to wear. It takes time. When the next bad bout comes many will jump ship, but some will stay. Then the wagon is a bit more full in the hard times. Eventually, and it takes decades, you build a franchise that has a loyal following with a full stadium full of die hards. Arizona is a hard market to get that to happen in, but its happening. Work with it now... look at the D-backs. The games aren't that well sold, but many of the fans at those games are die hard. There were less of those die hards before the World Series win. IT takes time, a lot of time, a generation or three's worth of time. I'm up for the challenge.

I work part time at ACE and I see 100 people in Cards' gear compared a single person 2 years ago. It is simply amazing.

Per Urban:

Who would have ever thunk it?

It's not that unbelievable to have a growth rate that high given the low baseline the Cards had to start with.

People love NFL football, but you remember SDS, that was so awful sitting outside in 100 degree heat in the sun on a George Foreman grill bleacher.

I don't know how many people remember, but prop 302 BARELY passed, and Mesa and Tempe have to be kicking themselves seeing all that money go to Glendale.

M. Bidwill is doing a good job. He is not reclusive like his dad and cares about building this team and talks with the fans 1:1 if you get to meet him.

Good star, but another 5-11 year would halt the growth of the fanbase.

I personally disagree with that. NFL football is the best sports product out there and if you can watch it without getting sunburned or heat exhaustion it will always draw. The Cards regularly drew 25K with 4-12 seasons in SDS hell.

I have had a Cardinals sticker on my hard hat at work for a few years and used to catch all kinds of crap for it, in the last year or so I can't remember hearing any kind of jokes! :)

This last year for all of us has been so sweet, I am almost like a kid at Christmas when I think that this success could be sustained and we can be in the playoffs for consecutive years and challenge for the division on a regular basis.

Yes sir.. I remember you jw7 sitting right next to me, Tim and Koot in the NEZ at SDS.. And yes Mr Bidwill is a very personable guy.. Had the chance to shake his hand and be around him more than once at the Tempe complex where he talked for hours on end to fans.. I over heard him telling stories of when he was a kid and how football was back then.. He is definitly a historian..

People have to remember that the Cards are the only team to never have had their own stadium in their exsistance.. Much less getting parking or beer sales from the Sun Devil scum.. No sky box money.. Nothing..

Go Cards!

great news, i'll take any new cards fan we know who we were back when,

even though i'm back in cali now i too suffered through sweat devil stadium hell
i remember when we drafted garrison hearst and everybody thought we got a franchise back
only to see him tear up his acl and then go some place else and succeed it seemed we were truly cursed:bang:

and maybe i've been to cynical and pessimistic but to think that we went to the superbowl and we have a front office and coaching staff that finally has us going in the right direction is just to much to be believed at times

but you know whats really cool is our quarterback situation is very much like the 49ers when steve young was riding the pine behind montana

i think now when leinerts time comes around again he will take us to new heights
perennial contenders, damn that sounds nice

I fully agree with your sentiments about a dynasty possibly being born.I just want to focus on what our (Joe Montana)KURT WARNER is gonna DO! for the next two years as he continues to light up the NFL like a supernova.Even Elway will have to say Warner went out on top and did it HIS WAY!!!

Elway had a running back to make his last two years much easier.I hope Beanie can be just that kind of back. Not in the running style or way Davis did it but in a much different way that goes with our passing game and learns to pass block and also take the dump offs all the way for six!.

I don't like it when I read folks say that Warner CAN'T make it threw 2 more seasons without getting hurt.I KNOW he can take.I really believe that Warner has a LOT more to give to this team.I also think he leads by example and that this team has tons of class and is getting better every day due to coach Whiz.

I hope Kurt gets to call some of his own plays this season and shows some folks he's just as good an offensive coordinator ON the field with what HE sees compared to what Whiz and Grimm and our new pass team leader can see on the sidelines.A true throwback QB all the way.He wanted to be here since he first got here.

Kurts teaching Fitz and the others how to be better pro's as Fitz has said often.Kurt expects a lot and I think he can do wonders with Breaston too.As he already has and Breaston has become fearless as Kurt has said. That is only gonna pay off bigtime this year.I love our homefield advantage. Its starting to really be something special.

Then having the wonderkin to step right in after Kurt leaves and take the team right back again would show everyone how much the Cards have it together.

That first SB RING is gonna have tons of rubies in it.Probably the first SB ring in NFL history to have awesome rubies to go along with the diamonds.

Just keep the roof closed and enjoy!!!:D
