NFL | Boller Stands Out at Private Workout - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
15:35 PT: Matt Gambill, of All Pro Scouting, has informed KFFL that California QB Kyle Boller worked out in front of 15 teams on Thursday. He threw about 110 passes and showed tremendous velocity, touch, mobility, accuracy and had an overall tremendous workout. He also looked very strong in scramble drills and showed a compact release and great accuracy while on the move. At the NFL Combine, Boller said he could throw the ball through the uprights while kneeling at the 50-yard line. On Thursday, he proved he wasn’t kidding by doing it for those in attendance.

Very streaky until Tedford was hired his Senior Season.

He was awesome last year, but you have to wonder why he wasn't for years....was it coaching? is he a one season wonder?

I hope he jumps into the top ten. It could help us.

Being a one-season wonder hasn't hurt Carson Palmer's stock

He might be a better athlete than Palmer...but they are similar.

I would love it if he really jumps up, because our picks trade value would be much improved.

The question is, how is that relevant since one he kneels down the play is over (-:

Boller is a good kid and I'm glad he's doing so well but I still have this voice in my head that says he wasn't that good at Cal until his senior year don't get too excited.

More important, what things does that voice in your head tell you to do?

Palmer was a better player in college in my opinion. I saw Boller a lot early in his career when Cal was terrible and to be fair the talent around him wasn't great and neither was he.

Palmer 63% 3942 yards 33 td 10 INT 149.1 rating
Boller 53% 2815 yards 28 TD 10 INT 126.8 rating

Don't get me wrong Boller is a great athlete he was very highly rated out of HS and was considered a disappointment before this year much like Palmer. I guess I put more stock in who Palmer played against too, Cal's non conf. games this year were Baylor, New Mexico State, Michigan State and Air force, USC's were auburn, Colorado, Kansas State, Notre Dame and Iowa in the Bowl game.

Palmer is a more polished passer in my opinion. Palmer throws a beautiful ball, he always has that's why it was so puzzling for much of his career that his numbers were so mixed.

Boller in round 2 is a great pick, in round one I think it's a risk for most teams. FYI I think he will go in round 1 now.

Yes even as a junior Palmer was like 58% he's just a more complete QB right now. But talent wise Boller is right there, he's just not as polished, that may be totally the fault of the staff at Cal most of his career.

part of my issue with Boller is I got real excited about Pat Barnes coming out of Cal who did the exact same thing under the same circumstances(great last year with a new coach- Mariucci). And Barnes was a bust in the NFL.

I want everyone to stop and think about that for a second.
