There is one Western Conference team below .500 right now, and that is the Grizzlies at 3-4.

And then look at the Atlantic division where the best team has a .500 record...pathetic

It makes some sense though if you look at the conference records of a lot of the teams. Minnesota is 4-4, but 0-3 against the west which just means they've played 5 east teams so far. GS is 3-3 overall and 1-3 against the west. A lot of cross conference games have been played and the west seems to be dominating them (no surprise). Things will start balancing out once teams start having more games within their own divisions.

That's funny. During the Mark Stein chat on ESPN.com Monday there were a lot of Eastern Conference fans writing in about the East vs.West. They were saying that so far they Eastern Conference teams had done well against the Western Conference teams.

I do believe some of these Western Conference teams will fall back to earth as the season progresses, but it does look like it's going to be another battle for a playoff spot for the Phoenix Suns.
