my wife and i are sitting on the couch listening to the game on the satellite radio. the cards were winning, the defense playing their hearts out. all of the sudden i could hear a chant. faint at first, then growing louder.

"LET'S GO CARDINALS!.....LET'S GO CARDINALS!"

my wife (life long bronco fan) turns to me and says: "is that a chant that i hear? i don't think i've ever heard that from a cardinals game."

i could hardly speak. the sound was beautiful. the room got really really dusty all of the sudden and i got something in my eye - yeah, that's it, i got something in my eye...

way to go fans!!!

The crowd was the best I have heard in several years....I turned to my buddy yesterday at the game and said "it's actually pretty loud in here!".

Attendance was roughly 42, 200. Assuming that most fans were Cardinal fans and capacity is about 67,000, it occurs to me that if each fan yells 1½-2-times as loud as normal for a typical home team, the crowd noise will be close to sell-out decibel levels.

Defense Chant

I was working out in front of my house. Had the radio in my truck cranked with the window down. The Giants had the ball on their last possession (or was it the next to last?). The crowd was chanting DEFENSE! and man you could hear it real loud. It was great! Maybe there's a good reason why the Cards play tough at home.

During the Giants second to last possesion the crowd chanting
"DE-FENSE DE-FENSE" through a television time out was awesome!
I was reminded of the play-off run in '98. Everyone there should be proud, and those who were not there should have. Let's do this again in 2 weeks.

Might as well start calling NEZ home as the new stadium only has that. No SEZ.
