I'm a uncle's monkey??
I notice alot of people making comments about our WR corp and how we need to resign Jenkins/Sanders, find a Vet, or draft with our 1st pick.
I want to remind everyone of a similar conversations going on last year about our RB situation.
Everyone was worried about TJ/Shipp saying we should go out and get a Vet or use a high pick in the draft. Everyone was worried TJ was a bust and that Shipp hadn't had any Pro carries yet. The team however appeared to be fairly happy with who they had.
Reason I bring this up is because I think Jerry Sullivan is one of the best WR talent evaluators/teachers in the League. And one thing I remember Jerry mentioning is that he felt the best reciever on the team never got a chance to show it and that was Gilmore. He also talked about how much he thought McCadley had improved and was going to suprise alot of people.
Now my belief is the reason they let Boston walk, and haven't spent any serious time searching for a Vet is because much like last years RB situation, the team is fairly happy with the young guys on the team and the development they have seen.
We have some very young but in Sullivans eyes tallented WR's on this team in McCadley, Gilmore, Kasper. Maybe those are our #1, #2 & #3 Wr's this year, and only reason we are even offering Jenkins a contract is to be the Kick Returner and another deep threat for the Blake long ball, but we arent overly concerned with signing him because we have our starting recievers allready?
Just a thought.
