Some of these were quoted by goofball Bill Walton......
----------------------------------------------------------------------

San Antonio will fold in the 4th quarter!

Ason Kid will belittle Tony Parker!

Kenyon Martin will do a great job on Duncan!

Ason Kid will take over in the 4th quarter.
(I did not think he was in the game after the start of the 3rd quarter)

Ason Kid can too play a half court game!

And the best thing said was...........(below)

Let Jason Kidd shoot..............

I actually thought Kenyon Martin defended Tim Duncan very well. At least he did as much as you can expect from anybody. Duncan just made some great shots tonight.

If not for his mean attitude, KMart is a really good player. Duncan was just unstoppable for him, shooting over him at will.

slin,

that's why his shooting-over-you was unstoppable. It makes hesitant as to which evil is more evil.

He did in the first half but, that is Duncans game, get his teammates involved and then do what he has to do to help his team win.

I thought Duncan paced himself in the first half and then decided to take over in the 2nd half.

I would say these stats tell the story,,,,,,,,,,,,Martin did not really do a good job on Duncan.

Duncan, 32 points, 20 rebounds, 7 blocks, 6 assists.

This guy really is a great player!!

I guess what I meant is that Duncan was making difficult shots. Even in the second half he was not getting a bunch of easy layups or slam dunks. Much of the time Martin had him 10 ft. from the basket making shots over Martin's outstretched arms. I don't think Martin could have played better defense than he did last night.

I think if I was New Jersey I would look at what the Phoenix Suns did and go with that. Don't allow Tim Duncan to catch the ball, and when he does double-team or triple team him. They need to make the other players beat them. New Jersey should be able to do it better than Phoenix did in the first-round.

No way they could do it better than Phx, as far as letting others beating you. Parker was Marbury's bitch till Steph got hurt and tired for the minutes he played. Particularly tiresome smallball minutes thanks to FJ I may add. Marion's defense was not that bad either, definitely not worse than Jefferson's. On the other hand, Kidd was schooled by Parker with or without Duncan! The most benefit from the Phx tactic for the Nets might be from freeing KMart from playing too little due to foul trouble. At both ends, he is better than Amare right now. Anyway, they might win one game with this tactic. But they will soon get tired like the Suns did and eliminated as well.

I really like kenyon martin. He's a great player and he's had to overcome a whole lot of things. Messed up knee comming out of college. Broken leg near the end of his rookie season. He also has turettes disease which he has to surpress constantly. That could have been why he would over react like that last year and pick up those dumb flagrants. This year he's made a bigger effort to surpress it and its enabled him to improve his game.

I wonder if ESPN will retain his services next year. I mean he has a huge amount of critics, on the national stage even. I am sure ESPN is well aware of the general disgust most of the American people have for him. Hell, even one of the ESPN Page 2 writeers said, "Out of the 6 billion people in the world, are you telling me Bill Walton was the best man for the job??" If your own company will allow you to be ridiculed on the most visited sports site, then you know it is time for a change.

But everyone hates Magic Johnson as a broadcaster too, and yet somehow we continue to be subjected to him, one way or another. It's not as bad as when he was a regular, but even one minute of Johnson per year is a near lethal overdose, as far as I'm concerned.

My guess is we're stuck with Walton for a while.

I think both Johnson and Walton are hilarious. Its also fun watching Barkley get made fun of on TNT and the cuts scenes of the beautiful women in the stands on ABC. If it weren't for all those things i'd probably fall asleep till the forth quarter.

Sorry I didn't hear exactly WHO said it, but ESPN radio quoted one of the Spurs saying they owe a big debt to the Phoenix Suns for preparing them for anything in the playoffs - that no other team has come up with an approach or a tactic the Suns didn't use and that the Spurs had to figure out how to overcome, and it was the best possible rehearsal. I thought that was pretty interesting.
