Saw this too, my question:

I do not like SIM racers, I like arcade racers. I read somewhere that "motorsport" is sim but the "horizons" version of Forza is arcade? Is this accurate? If so, I plan to try out horizons for sure as I thought NFS was terrible and I havent heard any rumors of a new burnout game.

Forza Horizons is more of an arcade style racer and it was very good. You still had to slow down around some corners, but it's open world driving so you're not on a confined track. There's also some decent variation of the different types of events & they throw in hidden items to find/crash into. I've enjoyed all of the Forza's but it really seems like 1-5 are all the same game because it's a SIM so they keep using the same real world courses over and over again. The graphics keep getting better and it looks like they've improved the ability to tune your car in Forza 5, but they've also introduced even more micro-transactions... I doubt I'll buy it once the free weekend is over... maybe once it's $10.

They have to come out with a new Burnout... that last one was my favorite driving game of all time. There's just something fun about trying to wreck as many other cars as possible during a race... it's an art form really :)

slowing down for turns drives me nuts. Im not a fan of open world either where I have to drive to the race, I just want to be plopped into the race. I didnt enjoy burnout paradise for that reason alone but burnout revenge is my favorite racing game of all time.

I did try it and did enjoy it at least for a little bit. I could see myself getting bored with it due to it being a sim but I did like the handicaps it sets up at first. In sim games, I cant really tell that I am going 50 MPH so I always brake too late but it had a braking assist on along with a path line that showed you tips on what to do during turns and etc.

Either way, if you like simulated racers, it is a very solid game.
