The New York Yankees have reinstated Carlos Beltran from the 15-day disabled list and put him into the starting lineup against Oakland. Beltran was batting fifth as the designated hitter Thursday. Infielder Scott Sizemore was designated for assignment. The switch-hitting Beltran was put on the DL on May 15 because of pain related to a bone spur in his right elbow.
