Aug. 18—NEW YORK — On July 26, the Yankees trailed the Red Sox by 9.5 games in the AL East standings. Barely over three weeks later, that margin has been completely erased, as the Yankees swept Tuesday's day-night doubleheader to catch the Red Sox.
