Hi,

Okay thanks for the emails but I’m really letting new voices take over the discussion. I have been keeping a low profile, so I have zero inside info. However, since you ask for my impressions of the upcoming year here they are. I think the QB future looks bright. That said, I can’t imagine having a fragile starting QB and a rookie likely to see lots of playing time, yet going with what I’ve dubbed the Eggshell Line. Ironically I thought Shipley was the one solid asset. Now it’s a rookie and 4 guys I would bet will not play 10 games each. Even if I’m wrong, the right side is very weak. They added a FB as a defensive measure. It’s true they have a great RB, but again it’s unlikely the line will be an asset to the ground game. Couple this with a modest receiving corps and this could be a painful year for the offense.

I think the defense will be sound by the end of the year, but with the extensive changes, including the entire system, there will be some difficult moments.

I think 7 wins would be a solid year. The schedule is brutal. The division is improved. Stay calm and let the new regime build out its vision. I think the staff is solid, so give them a chance.

So you predict all of our starting linemen are going down to injury? Come on man. Can't happen three years in a row, can it?

Good stuff Harry. Seven wins seems about right with the schedule and questionable offense.

Glad to see you! But be careful of the 7 wins comment! Some would say your telling them that they can ignore watching the season!

Really glad to see you back.

Glad to here from you Harry! You are right about us needing the offensive line to stay healthy. I think we will be better at center with either Cole or Boehm though. Pugh and Humphries really need to stay healthy this year for the line to be a decent unit. I will say that I think many are not giving the Cards much credit for what they do have on the offense. Both Fitz and DJ are top five at their positions and we have not one but two accurate quarterbacks on the roster now.

We have as many offensive weapons on the roster now as what Tom Brady does most years and look what he has done. Teams like the Bears and Ravens have won Super Bowls with a good running game and a dominant defense. We won 8 games last year without a good quarterback for most of it. Imagine if we had Bradford as the backup to Palmer last year. We probably would have been in the playoffs and that's without DJ for the whole year. Looking at the schedule I see 9 wins, but anything can happen. To me it's all about staying healthy. If we can stay healthy we make the playoffs, if not then your 7 win prediction is spot on.

That's different than saying make a trade that kills the secondary instead of trying because you see 7 wins
