A one year deal. Ok, but either LeNeveu, Tjordman, or Tellqvist is going to see some serious starts this season. Hopefully Tjordman or LeNeveu will prove they can excel at the NHL level. Tellqvist is never going to be an all-star. Personally, I would cut Tellqvist once I feel confident one of the kids can take over the #2 spot.

One year at something like $600k, which is a good deal for us. Aebischer is still young and if he does well for the team next year he has the inside track on locking up that future starter's position for some time. Next year is going to be a big tryout for him, and this is far less risky than giving up the type of assets it would have cost to secure Bryzgalov or Raycroft in a trade, especially since both of them have their own question marks. I am hoping that LeNeveu will steal the backup role in training camp, giving us two very talented young goaltenders that have shown flashes of brilliance and starting potential in the past.
