First of all, it would bring fans to the game! Butts in the seats always makes an owner happy. Secondly, it would give Collangelo revenge of a sorts on Barkley!! Talk about sending him to perdition! :D Thirdly, it would take him off TNT and reduce the criticism of the Suns. Finally, it would teach Barkley humility!! :D

I vaguely remember a topic like this last year some time.

I think the general consensus was while he was an excellent player, he would not be a good coach, especially for a young team.

There was a big fear of his after game antics spreading to his players. One Barkley was enough, we don't need to deal with 12 :D

And last month, and last week.

If not for some of his outrageuos comments he makes every once in a while I think Barkley might be a very good coach if he wants to.

He could have won a title if he had wanted to. The problem with Barkley is always his motivation.

I think I will have to disagree with this a little. I would take 12 Barkley's on one team in a second. As long as they were the Barkley's that led us to the finals. That year he was an animal on the boards, especially in the playoffs.

A Barkley head coaching career could go several ways.

1. Multiple players on injured reserve and problems with the players union over the physical abuse of players during practice.

2. Mark Iavaroni serves as "virtual head coach" as Barkley serves suspension after suspension for the abuse of referees. "When I was a player, I had to play, but now when I am a coach all I can do is stand on the sidelines and watch those sorry -----'s mess up the game of basketball!"

3. In an unprecendented event the entire team misses tip-off after a Superbowl party and the coach's house goes terribly wrong. 6 players post bond, but have hangovers so bad they cannot function. 3 others are guests of Sheriff Joe on vice charges. The trainer spends the entire night in lockup because the team forgets about him.

I was more or less talking about his attitude and personality............
