okay its that down time in the nfl time to come up with arbitrary topics, so here goes...what does your nfl playoff picture look like?

here's mine...

NFC
east- DAL (bledsoe to owens with jones and barber behind a revamped OL and a very talented young D)

north- CHI (well it sure wont be GB, or DET and im not sold on johnson in MIN, I dont think their D will be what it was lat year but they win by default)

south- CAR (A solid running game just got better with d.williams and s.smith is a legit stud, kemo should improve an already very good D)

west- AZ (To many weapons to cover on O)

wild- PHI (A healthy mcnabb makes a HUGE difference especially with TO out of town. I see r.brown having a break out year)

wild- ATL (Vick should show improvements, their running game is always solid but the D is the key here with hartweel coming back healthy and the addititons of jimmy williams and milloy to play next to hall! along with john abraham up front!)

just missed- SEA (The NFC is drastically improved over last year, they wont benefit from below average competition like they did last year, SA got his big contract and lost hutch, he wont produce like he did last year. losing jerevicious will also hurt the O in the short/medium passing game.)

AFC
east- NE (Dillon should return from injury with a solid year and brady has a deep threat in c.jackson, besides the jets and bills sure wont win it and the dolphins have harrington aat the healm until week 8)

north- BAL (Here's my big suprise team Jamal returns with t chip on his shoulder and steve mcnair throwing to mason, clayton and heap! not to meantion a great D that added ngata and brings back a healthy ray ray)

south- IND (one name..manning. yeah they lost james but with D's focusing on the pass addai and rhodes should do okay, besides the titans and texans have no chance and the jags lost j.smith and have an aging injury prone f.taylor)

west- DEN (they add j.walker to go along with a great running game and a suprisingly good D. al combined with the fact that the raiders have no chance and i cant see rivers leading the chargers like brees did right away)

wild- KC (larry johnson is a stud and they alwyas have a great passing game an average D should be good enough for 9-7)

wild- PIT (roethisberger should show further improvements with weapons like heath miller, hines ward and santonio holmes, the running game is always solid but the loss of bettis will hurt, the D will be very solid again)

just missed- CIN (Carson probably wont be ready early int he season otherwise they're in and KC stays home)

No way Seattle falls off that badly. They still have a damn good defense SA. They are the class of our division until we prove otherwise. I'm not ready to count those clowns out. As for the eagles, despite my derision of all things green here. I'm hard pressed to see them make the playoffs. Too many question marks and an even further improved NFC east mean trouble for those clowns.

Considering the past 5 SB losers have had .500 records or worse the following year, its not that far out of the realm of possibility. However that was mostly because the injury bug hit those teams.

If they stay healthy, it will be a good battle between us and them for the division title IMO

I couldn't tell you why but 9-7 never seems good enough to get the Chiefs into the playoffs. Last year they even managed 10-6 and they still missed.

I'd love if the Seahawks missed the playoffs altogther but that's pretty bold.

I'd take Philly over Dallas in the East. I think they'll be good again.

you have to remember that philly had the injury bug last year and the TO cancer they've added bunkley and d.howard to go with the freak up front on D and the best secondary in the NFL, imay move them over dallas in the east and give dallas the wild card now that i think about it more.

Seattle probably still wins the division, but the cards will grab the wild card spot...

Don't underestimate the loss of Hutchinson to the running game. I expect Seattle to have problems moving the ball.

Super Bowl losing teams generally don't do too well the following year. High expectations and players that aren't as hungry as before can sometimes lead to implosion. On paper, yeah, they look good, but they still have to show up every week and not buy into their own press.

I agree but Seattle may be a unique case I think they may be MORE hungry since they feel cheated out of SB 40 and that they didn't get any respect
But then again I don't know much...:D
