Lots of good ones. I know it's not a thriller, but Wag the Dog.

Did have a bit of a thrilling ending in that Dustin Hoffman was escorted out of the building to an uncertain fate,

I actually gave copies of that movie as Xmas gifts last year.

Hunt For Red October is a great one. So is In The Line Of Fire.

Three Days of the Condor is a good choice.

But the best is easily The Parallax View, with Warren Beatty. If you haven't seen it, check it out immediately. You will thank me later.
