What did you think of #19?

My thoughts:

1. Unexpected mobility
2. Cannon for an arm (better than DA)
3. The odds of him starting next year just went from 15-1 to 5-1.

He ran for a few TDs in college, but I didn't expect him to be that cool in his first start. Great job by the rookie.:)

Very impressed. A bright spot in a horrible season. He throws a nice ball and can take a hit. Can see the field better than DA even at this age.

I'll reserve judgement on him until I see more but for today, his play was just OK. No turnovers but he nearly had one on that shovel pass in the 3rd. 15 of 37 isn't anything to cheer about. He'll improve with reps.

Don't overlook all the drops and no picks.

He seemed ok to me. That's better than most of the quarterback play for the team so far this season. :)

Ehh, I remember Hall playing "alright" in his first start as well. Wiz better bring in a solid vet to lead this team next year, and/or be smart enough to draft Newton or Luck if they are available when the Cards pick.

Good for a rookie. Lots of good, some bad that wasn't his fault (drops, horrid playcalling, miscommunication on routes) and some that were (some sloppy fundamentals later in the game, a few questionable decisions, some bad throws)

He also showed alot of poise and has a good arm with touch. He just showed that he at the very least should be on the roster next year. QBOTF? To be determined on how he finishes out the rest of the season.

I'm still not opposed to drafting another QB. His play from here on out decides how high of a priority it is

I wonder what our record would be had he been starting all year?

Probably need to see a few more games before we could guess at that.

I was most impressed by his pocket awareness and mobility. The OL wasn't any better for him than it has been for DA but I don't think he was ever sacked...he seemed to sense the rush and would move around just enough to give him time to get rid of the ball.

He is obviously a work in progress though. Accuracy, staring down WRs, checking off, forcing throws---all that needs to be improved on.

Remember my friends...this was almost ALL on his own!!! The Cardinal coaches have done NOTHING this year to prepare him for this until this week...where he was told he had to beat out a UFL backup, signed on Tuesday, for the starting spot.

Forget the incompletions (there were several dropws too and so many close catches, like a couple of Breaston's)...it was the decision making...and the steadiness to guide the offense...and 43 points!!! Steady, smart QB play enables this!!!

I really liked his mobility but would have liked it even more if he was able to hit someone when he's on the move. Still, a very positive first showing. I can't wait to see how he responds as teams get more film on him.

That's a good point. No first team reps until this week.

He'll get a horrible CAR squad on the road next week. Another good tune up for his first real test. DAL on Christmas day.

You people are tough graders. For his first NFL start with only a week with the first team, he did an excellent job. Why he was not the first rookie choice rather than Max Hall escapes me. Maybe you experts can tell me whether Bradford was better in his first game even after he had much preparation.

I think you must have focused on just one or two posts. Most of us gave him a positive review. It's way too early to call him the second coming but he gave us reason for hope. I don't think you can ask for more than that from a 5th rounder making his first start.

Yamon, good first start, and a nice surprise. Glad he didn't tuck it and run it more than he did, the time he did ,he went for and got to the chains for a first. I want more,I just can't believe I am glad there are games left now. Go Cards. :)

My thoughts:

1. Very impressed with his calm demeanor througout the game.
2. Also that he chose to throw the ball away (3x by my count) rather than force it into coverage.
3. Much more mobile than I expected - Loved the big block he threw too.
4. That rainbow pass (twice) needs to be retired. There are DE's with enough recovery speed to defend it.
5. That shovel pass that was nearly intercepted was Brett Farve like - on one of his really bad days.

Overall, Skelton got some experience with the speed of the game, and seemed to get more comfortable as the day wore on.

I'm pleasantly surprised and look forward to watching him next week.

Go Cards!!!

Considering he is a rookie, with only a week's full of reps with the 1st team, I thought he did very well. He gives me hope, so I guess that's good!

He handled the game plan very well and got better as the game progressed. He certainly has the size and arm strength needed to be successful. He needs to stay as the starter for the rest of the season. He also has the smarts needed t be successful.

1st things first, I take it you missed where I said 'no turnovers'. And 2nd, so you're saying that all 22 incompletions were all drops? Um, ok. If you say so.

I said all 22 incompletions were drops? Show me where I said that. Just some perspective to the numbers as some drops did occur. It was his first game and he did real well in my opinion.

You can ask Section 11, I was very excited. That said, he was competent...and that is something we haven't seen this year. He's tougher than I expected.
