I didn't see as many movies this year as I normally do.

My 2 favorites were The Hangover & Star Trek...Adventureland was pretty good too.

Observe & Report and Bruno were probably the 2 worst movies I saw this year.

Wish I could get there more, but here's my list:

Hangover - one of my favorite comedies ever
Avatar (IMAX) - amazing theater experience
Terminator - decent
Land of the Lost - meh, but my sons loved it

Eventually hope to see everything from Chaplin's list on dvd.

not going to chime in on my list of 2009, but i did run across one movie that probably went overlooked to almost everyone.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139797/

Let the Right One In. Supposed to be a great movie, what Twillight could have and should have been.

i'll probably be checking this one out in the near future

That movie was released in 2008. It's first appearance in the US was in May 08 at the Seattle Int'l Film Festival. And it went into limited release around the country in Oct 08.

I haven't seen Crazy Heart or Up In The Air yet, but Hurt Locker and A Serious Man were solid favorites for me.
