Me and my sister and my kids have been having fun hiking recently. Nothing too serious. We did the west fork trail in oak creek canyon last weekend.

So we're hiking and my specific question is this: I'm looking for a local trail, south mountain, superstition, etc; where you can be dropped off somewhere and the trail ends up somewhere that someone could meet you and have a picnic.

My parents are old and can't hike but I try to get them outdoors and they were thinking it would be nice to meet us at the end of a hike and have a little BBQ/picnic. Anyone know any place like this? Looking for a 3-6 mile trail.

You may want to check out the Alltrails app. there are a lot of good trails on there with some good sorting tools.

+1 all trails is pretty bad ass. I'm continuously tempted to pay for the full app

South mountain has quite a lot of trails, I am sure you could find one like what you are looking for there.

Here's S. Mtn. I mostly do the north side, but there are many trails you can connect for different drop-off or pickup points. FYI, the 48th St entrance is closed.

Bert, you're in Flag, right? There's some lava tubes up there, but I don't know exactly where. Have you been to them or know about them?

Ive hiked the main lava tube multiple times, it is awesome. Its cold so wear sleeves and bring a flashlight as it is pitch black in there.
