I am watching.. scary situation for sure. Thoughts and prayers.

With him and Fox, I wonder if there will be any discussion around the demanding lifestyle of being a head coach in the NFL.

EDIT: they are saying hospital visit is precautionary, and Wade Phillips even suggested that it might be that Kubiak was just exhausted after too many long work nights without sleep.

well i'm not heartless
it says here he is alert and sitting up and being attended to, could be anything from cardiac to low blood sugar but i am sure they are acting out of an abundance of caution

Prayers for Coach Kubiak. And for his family and the team. What an awful thing.

Any kind of collapse is bad. :(

Non Football Thoughts (obviously a priority)

Still in the hospital today but they are saying it was NOT a heart attack. Doing tests. Wow, between this and John Fox, the NFL HC position had a rough weekend.

Football-ish Thoughts:

No idea how this would impact a locker room. Do they rally? Do they collapse? Does this impact their game plan? Will he travel with the team? When does he get back into his normal routine?

This job places a ton of stress and sleepless nights on men. I hope they figure out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again, given the nature of his job.

Never heard of any profession in the US that would look into if too much work is causing your bad health.

Just sayin'

I hope the NFL does something, but I highly doubt it.

It sucks. Fox in the hospital for heart problems, and Kubiak collapsing on Sunday night football. It is horrific.

Hope they are both OK.

fox needs a valve replacement same surgery my dad had. According to his cardiologist thats not a stress related issue. I wonder if he will choose artificial valve or pig valve?

Good.

I hope the same for Kubiak. It sounds INSANE, but he may have been dehydrated. When you are really, really dehydrated it really screws your body up bad.

Kubiak had a mini stroke caused by a temporary loss of blood to the brain. He'll be fine as soon as they locate which vein or artery has the slight blockedge.

Guy at work in a high stress position had the same exact thing.

Bad thing: Guy was too stressed.

Good thing: You wouldn't know it happened if you saw him today.

I had a suspicion that's what it was when I saw the film and saw him put his hands on his temples as he went down. Hopefully he'll be OK. That's one scary thing to have happen.

I had a TIA a few years ago. I did not "go down" but I was getting addresses from my email to send Christmas cards. I could not remember my best friend's last name and other names I should have known. Everything looked blurry on the screen. I went and laid down on our bed and told my wife what happened. She immediately took me to the emergency room. The waiting room was packed. There was one guy there with a towel around his arm and blood was dripping on the floor. They took me before everyone, and that is when I got really worried. I said "take this guy first" but they didn't. I was hospitalized for 3 days running every imaginable test. They released me saying it was a TIA. So far, 7 years later, so good.
