ILBer at 16 would be Keim-y. CB at 16, I don't think the value would be there, and it wouldn't meet need. I suspect it will be DT, OT, or Edge, probably that order. But that's pure speculation.

It won't be at 16, but for the 2nd round it's entered the chat.

Agreed. Offensive or defensive line are most likely imo.

If Will Johnson is there I would expect that to be the pick. It's really going to depend on if anyone falls a little.

They may love someone like Banks to play guard with a view to going to RT in the future, although Banks may be a stellar guard.

But go do a mock and you'll feel far less desperate for DT and Edge as you did last week.

They could also trade up now. If Mason Graham is there at 8 or 9 might they move up to get him now?Or someone else they love at that spot. All options open now.

I do think a trade up, as Harry mentioned, is possible. Monti tried to trade up with Dallas for Darius Robinson and was outbid. Whereas Keim almost never traded back, Monti is seemingly open to going either way. The difference this year is that we have fewer picks to start with.

Not opposed to trading down if 2/5 are still on the board. I do not want Kenneth Grant, Jalon Walker or Jihaad Campbell and don’t think Monty does either. Mike Green is interesting if his character checks out.

We traded back for Paris Johnson

I did hear McMillan was sliding, but he’s more of a possession receiver than a deep threat.
I would hope the Cardinals would sprint to the podium if Tet slides. I'd even consider trading up to get him, because then the Cardinals would have two jumbo receivers to pair with McBride.

I don't either, but if you look at the board, WR is pretty bare after the first round talents and it still could provide a pretty big impact.
no way…It probably hurt Monti passing on Joe alt last year…(he knows the fans wouldn’t of liked that)…..look at the eagles….they eat their vegetables….o line or de all the way now…..

I just posted the last part in the Tomlinson thread too. With the 2 signings at DT and Edge, you now may have more incentive to move up to get one stud impact guy you REALLY want, because you don't need as much depth so you're less concerned about giving up picks?

I think Abdul Carter is the guy most teams would want to move up to get and he'd probably be too expensive for us to move up for, but yes Graham would make sense.

My suspicion is we'll stand pat and then it's OL, DL, Edge or Wr. If for some reason Will Johnson from Michigan is there at 16, and I doubt he will be, he'd be a great pick but I don't know if you move up for him unless you just love him

Imo it's looking more and more like OT in round 1 with DT in round 2...might even trade up to 10 or 12 to get the targeted guy

TMac is interesting...because I think he is a better, and much more likey to develop version of what we are hoping to get out of Michael Wilson.

I dont think he's a going to be a superstar...but I could be wrong for sure. I think hes going to be good, to maybe "very good". If hes there at 16...he has to be in the conversation of BPA...but I don't know about taking another WR in the top 16 picks in back to back years....you better make sure you are getting 2 game wreckers because it usually doesnt work out.

I think Monti will be taking calls if that happens. The WR group is weak this year and he is the #2

I mentioned earlier that going up is certainly possible now. I don’t see a WR worth moving to get, maybe an OT. Don’t think they could reach Carter. If Campbell or Graham starts dropping, moving up might be hard to resist.

if a tackle pops up as bpa when we're up it'd be hard not to

Wilson, Reiman and Higgins are all big targets.
Wilson is an ok 3rd WR, and doesn't show anything that he'll be more than that. Reiman had 6 catches for 37 yards last year. None are in the class of Tet by any standard.
IMO the teams need to add speed not size at receiver
We had one great TE, a mid WR1, and little else to help Kyler at WR. Tet is 6-5 and runs a 4.5 40. I'm sure Kyler would be very happy to have another valuable target.

I'm taking expected development into this.

MHJ was objectively the highest rated draft prospect in 10 years. He ranked 21st as a rookie and I definitely assume that he will improve to top 10 level.

On Reiman. Didn't show much. Correct. I expected much more. Correct. But you had an incredibly athletically talented player that was very raw playing the position, where it usually takes the longest to adjust to the NFL level. McBride is arguebly the best TE in the league. Top 3 without doubt. He was polished coming out and yet he didn't do much as a rookie. I expect Reiman to develop significantly. Will he develop to the skillset of a WR1? Highly unlikely. But he will be better.

Reiman and Higgins can be targeted, but they're not real receiving threats. I crossed out Jones because lol MHJ and Trey can be our big targets, and I agree that they need to add speed at WR.

I don’t understand who we’d be trading up for. Graham, Carter and Hunter are top-7 picks. No way I’m giving up an our 2nd plus a future 1st for anyone else.

Exactly.

The way I hear it is that tier 1 is set with the 7-ish players.

The 2nd tier is not only quite big this year, but also strong at OL, Edge and DT - all positions of need.

It only makes sense to move up for a tier 1 player in that scenario
