McCarron told the newspaper that he will "be open to everything" in free agency.

"I'm not the one -- the people that know me and truly know me, and my family knows -- it's not about the money for me. I just love playing football. Making the money is great but I just want to play. ... Whoever gives me an opportunity. I'm not going to chase the huge contract and be put in a situation that I might not be one hundred percent comfortable with just because it's a lot more money or whatever. I want to go somewhere where I can win and help the team win and we have a bright future together. I'm just super excited for this next chapter," he told the Enquirer.

This is the guy I want and already stated so. He would be a great bridge for a young QB who might even be better than you think. People talk about Keenum, but I think he is way better. As far as not beating out Dalton... the Bengals can run their organization however they want, and I want McCarron :)

I heard on the radio this week (Mike Jurecki) that the Cards worked out McCarron before the draft in 2014 and were very interested in him. However, they also worked out Logan Thomas and BA, being a grad of Virginia Tech, pushed drafting Thomas over McCarron. We all know how that turned out.
Jurecki also said that the Cards are interested in McCarron and were starting to watch tape on him of his preseason games.
That was the old regime, Wilks/McCoy might not even like McCarron in this offense. I guess he’s still better then what we have and we had sans Palmer but that’s not saying much. Still go after Jackson or another draft pick qb if we sign McCarron

If they're looking at a bridge QB, Bradford on a low risk, 'prove it' type contract would be a good option.

He is listed as 6'3" 220 lbs and will be 28 yrs old this fall. Cards could sign him and take qb on round 2 or 3 and get top OL or BPA at #15. However, you sign him to be the starter.
I was not that high on him when he came out. I do recall watching him in the playoff game in 2015 against the Steelers and thought he looked very good considering he was filling in for the inured Dalton. Why he has not played much the last two years is something to consider. But the Bengals with Marvin Lewis and owner Mike Brown are a real dysfunctional organization. Just ask Carson Palmer.

I do not like Bradford's ability to stay on the field, he is like a great bridge with structural damage which at the slightest tremor may cast our rookie into the fray before he can adapt

Go get him! Then draft your guy you like. I think McCarron is underrrated & slightly below Jimmy G as a QB

I agree, but when Bradford is on, he's on. Like I said, a low risk, 'prove it' type contract is Keim's line of thinking. Someone may overpay for him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cards take a flyer on him.

If hes a starting caliber qb, then why he couldn’t beat out Andy Dalton?
Unsound logic. Steve Young was a backup. Aaron Rogers was a backup. Brett Favre was a backup who was let go in favor of Jeff George. Truth is, we don't know what McCarron can do.

I don’t see anyway Keim or Wilkes want Bradford as it’s QB, zero.

If your like checkdowns & 7 yard passes then Sam is your guy, IF he’s even able to play. Personally I think he’s knees are shot!

We aren't too bad with cap space. We currently have about $23mil & can easily add another $10mil with a couple of moves.

Cards will max out their cap space if they go after Cousins---he's going to want at least as much as JG. The $10 mil you speak of will leave us having to fill slots---I assume you are looking at cuts of guys like HB, Veld, Iupati, Gresham, etc. Even if AJ McC 'only' wants what Glennon received, we will be left with about $12-14 mil to fill out the roster with FA. It's supposed to be a retool, not a rebuild. It is the comparison of what Cousins will demand over what AJ (or other FA) will command that makes AJ someone who should be on the radar.

Next year, Cards will have plenty of cap. Not this year.

You refer to McC as a bridge for a young QB. McC is only 27 (28 in Sept). Why would you see him as a bridge and not as 'the guy.'

Take Gresham out of that mix, because he actually cost you cap space to cut him. Badger save about 4 mil. Cutting those two creates about 16 mill of dead cap space, so it's something you would have to really think about.

And what proof you have that he’s better then Dalton? Present your evidence.

Which shows Keim sucks at the draft, can't evelaute a QB and had Buchanon ahead of Carr and Reddick above Watson; Mahommes and Fell in love with garbage Logan Thomas. Clamoring for a QB draft pick; Keim will end up drafting a straight bust .He couldn't draft a Guard with the 7th overall pick. He even drafted the guard that wasn't ranked 1 lol. Wake up and hope a Vet! SK can't drafy he sucks with his early picks

It is not who you want, it is who you can afford.

Check out Bradford's 2016 numbers behind an awful Viking line:

Agree that Bradford is damaged goods---and will require plenty of scrutiny by the medical staff before being signed.
