I believe I read they are coming to Phoenix in February. Lineup looked pretty good. I'll look it up later, but I think it was Bush, Jerry Cantrell, Candlebox, and Silversun Pickups.

Edit: Yep, 2/1/23 at The Van Buren. Tickets go on sale later this week.

I saw them in Sept at Ak Chin. The bill was Alice in Chains, Breaking Benjamin and Bush. Bush was absolutely great!

This past week I have pulled some dvds I've had for awhile and listened to them. I just replaced an old sub woofer in my home theater setup.

1: Roy Orbison, "BLACK&WHITENIGHT", (SACD)

2: Chris Botti in Boston (bluray), and

3: Peter Cincotti, Live in New York (bluray from Monster Music).

Thank you for introducing me to Cincotti. Good stuff!

And I’ve been a huge Orbison fan for years. One of the best singers ever!!

I was given this DVD just last week and listened to/watched it over the weekend. I'm not a real big jazz fan, but did enjoy it. Even my wife, who is not into jazz, enjoyed it :) . The only option to listen was in 2.0 stereo.

Do you prefer surround mixes over stereo mixes for the music you listen to?

I do prefer the surround if it is mixed for surround. I don't enjoy the stereo mix being divided into the pl2 or the neo mix as much.

I think a good surround mix really immerses you with the music a lot better than stereo. I've got a haphazard 5.1 setup.
There is no taking into positioning and room acoustics at all. Wife won't let me:rolleyes: and, my hearing is about shot.

I don't like the receiver's algorithms for 'creating' surround out of 2-channel that much either.

Some surround mixes are good, but it's not great for everything and of course the quality of the mix can vary.

I've found all-channel stereo is nice when I'm doing stuff around the house and just want coverage versus sitting down to critically listen to a new CD. At that point I'll definitely stick with 2-channel plus sub.

I like listening (and looking at:blush:) to Diana Krall.
"A Case Of You".

My espresso machine (relatively inexpensive), Breville quit working this weekend. I'm waiting on a call back from their support.

So, right now (while waiting), I'm listening to the Zombies, next up will be the Righteous Brothers.

This seems appropriate for your predicament:

Well, I'm enjoying this thread. Still waiting on the call back on the espresso machine (it's been 4 hours). There is still 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground, so not going outside if I can help it.

I'm putting on Ray Charles now, "Ray Sings***Basie Swings". Just finished listening to Miles Davis, "Relaxin' with The Miles Davis Quintet" and Poncho Sanchez, "Conga Blue".
