We can say what we want about the game.
D giving up 20.
K1 missing guys.
WR Dropping Passes.
Petzing calling a horrible game.

But there is one thing I can’t stand and it’s terrible officiating. That interception and TD being called back was absolutely trash.

My problem is consistency. Yes the ball was still touching the C when the clock hit 2:00 so you can argue they called it right. But in the 3rd Q we're on like the 3 yard line and the ball is still clearly in the C's hand when the play clock hits 0 and they don't blow the play dead, it was the play Kyler ran for like 6 yards.

The ref expert said it was too close to call in his opinion but since they blew it dead there was nothing they could do. So he clearly seemed to be saying he didn't think they should have blown it dead

I watched a post game after and that was the exact question, why do we see multiple snaps every game clearly with the play clock at 0 go uncalled but this play with the game clock at 2:00 they blew it dead is the game clock different than the play clock? The answer given was they go with if it's close you don't get flagged for delay of game.

Another think that torqued me off was the referee seemed to smirking and laughing about it after it was over. Smug little $@&$ "thing that is on a cactus".

I'm more disappointed in the 4th down run for 1st down getting overturned. What were they looking at that made them overturn it??

They said his hip was down before he crossed the marker with the ball. THey said they synched together 2 separate shots to determine that. not much you can do they are supposed to have to have it be conclusive but they said it was.

I don't understand why the referees couldn't have talked among themselves if there was any question.

The idea should be to get the call right.
I don't see how grown ass men can accept 250k a year for a part time job and not have enough pride and professionalism to put in the work to be good at it.

Everyone makes mistakes. I'd respect the referees if they talked to each other and said inadvertent whistle or however they signaled it.

I agree with that. cant hate on someone for owning up to an error.
But we see egregiously bad calls or no calls every week in the nfl and they try to downplay it as a judgement call, or the guys in the booth agreed...crap like that.

They should have a check list or something...five obviously bad calls in a season...and your booted back to college...some sort of accountability. Plays like todays are not only game changing but they can affect January as well.

The thing is, this was an error concerning the clock. If they had bothered to review or discuss it, the play shouldn't have been in dispute.

right...because had they watched the tape they would have seen the ball was snapped before 2 minutes.
but it counts as a dead ball as they called it so no review

Although we know it was a live ball before the 2-minute mark.

Yeah he was clearly short when both angles were synched.

Yeah I never understood how part time guys can have such an impact on a game played by guys that spend their whole life training. NFL has so much money you would think they would have a program to develop and train guys year round. It also seems like all referees are in their 50s and 60s which seems weird to me.

We should have taken the points and not left it up to our star QB trying to slide for a first down marker. SMH.
