Get them the hell out of that dumpster fire downtown area already and set em up in Tempe or something...you need to reinvigorate young fans with a nicer location central to them. No one wants to head down there anymore...I mean , sure, the diehards. But that means nothing to growing your brand.

Gas prices and the light rail are just more reasons to not care about heading down there...

LOL, downtown is far more centrally located than Tempe. Downtown is more vibrant than ever - who doesn't want to go downtown?

Lol… Gas prices? They’re below 3 bucks in most of Phoenix. Oh the horror!!!

There’s someone on the Cards board who bashes Phoenix fans for not showing up to games even though they’ve been pathetic for almost a decade. That ire should be saved for baseball fans in the Valley at this point. The team came off a World Series run, is right in the playoff mix again this season despite a slew of injuries and they still can’t draw a crowd. That’s weak, regardless if the stadium kinda sucks.

I loathe downtown and it's about traffic, parking and entry points into it. I am certainly not ever taking my kid on the light rail.

Right spot is that big patch of reservation by Casino Az.

Attendance 2022 #21 19k average
Attendance 2023 #20 24k average
Attendance 2024 #18 28k average

15% ticket bump after the big world series run. I think a challenge will always be weekday games downtown and the summer.

I guess you have practical application here instead of just piping in nonsensical responses without a clue.

Thanks.

Cool. Almost 25 years ago. Times change....and times surely have changed in downtown Phoenix.

We just have bad fans. After a World Series run and another playoff run the team shouldn’t be 18th in attendance.

Well again a lot of those fans aren't around in the summer. We are at the highest attendance since 2008.

This season would rank #7 all time in attendance.

I see families all the time going to games via light rail.

Absolutely safe for that

I have ridden it twice in the last year and I will never ride it again. It's just not worth the risk. Last time a guy was having a full mental breakdown and threatening multiple people

Thriving/growth areas right now are San Tan/Queen Creek, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale. This isn't hard to see where the money is. Follow the money. You have a clear stadium issue and money and time/convenience somewhere else. This isn't hard. If the dbacks and MLB were smart here...they would be trying really hard to make it happen IMO.

Lol. It is absolutely NOT safe. EMS/Police are responding to calls all day, every day for a reason.

That's not 100% true. Two things would get me to use the light rail again:

#1. Actual connections to deeper in the valley. I have to drive part way to the stadium anyway to use the light rail. I may as well pay to park.

#2. If there was real security on the train

I don't see either happening though.

The Devil's Advocate here though is the NIMBYS in those towns have twice voted down stadiums.

I mean Tempe wouldn't support converting a garbage dump.

They are using security, last time I checked. Especially when it's seems like high risk areas potentially (don't know if that's exactly how it works). But I do know we had areas/stops that were more sensitive to getting calls in the past that always had security there first before we responded.

Either way.. it's not completely absolutely unrideable, depending on where you are and are going. It's just not "safe" either. IMO

True. But, maybe the dbacks/MLB have been sandbagging until the 11th hour. So, maybe there is some hope once rubber meets the road here soon. Dbacks/MLB will have more pull than the Coyotes did once things get going on that direction IMHO. We'll see.

You mention centrally located and every place on your list isn't centrally located. Downtown is. What other area has the infrastructure for both existing parking and public transportation?
