Geez, all Murray did was remove Cards from his IG and got blasted. Imagine if Kyler tweeted at McCarthy, FaceTimed with Dak, etc....hahaha
Im betting Aiyuk was blasted in Niner circles

Brandon Aiyuk’s offseason included a public trade request, tweeting at Mike Tomlin, posting photos with Jayden Daniels, sharing a FaceTime with Daniels saying "they don't want me back," getting permission to negotiate a contract with other teams, and nearly being traded multiple times. In the end, both sides came together, and Aiyuk signed a long-term deal with San Francisco

And now Trent Williams waits to get paid. Not to mention the clock starts ticking on Brock Purdy and his new contract once this season ends. It's crazy that Purdy's backups Dobbs and Allen both make almost twice as much as Purdy this season.

If i was the Niners with Williams having three years left I would be HARD LINE NO. Especially with his age. 37 this season....

"Trent Williams signed a 6 year, $138,060,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including $30,100,000 signing bonus, $55,100,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $23,010,000."

He is a 1st ballot hall of famer, their only good lineman, and is the key to their entire offense. The whole offense falls apart every time he gets hurt. They give him some more guaranteed money on his deal or they kiss their Superbowl chances goodbye.

Hollywood might want to consider moving up north.

The 49ers obviously backloaded it and are still roughly $48m under the cap. They’ll need it to rollover for relief next year but they’re still probably two years away from it really threatening to break up their roster.

Massively backloaded. Nearly $45 million cap hits in 2027 and 2028 and two void years in 2029 and 2030. This is an odd deal for team with so much cap space, but the can get out of it after 2026 with minimal damage.

I thought it was an extension...in which case he has to play out his current contract before new money kicks in.

It is an extension, but minimal with up front bonuses. Only $23 million guaranteed.

He's eligible after this season, so we'll see what they think he's worth. 21 starts in 2 years and a handful of injuries already. Will be interesting to see what he gets.

They need the cap space this year for rollover.

The problem is that all their contractrs are back-loaded. Hear on a podcast that they have the oldest team in the league and will be way over the cap entering next season. On top of that, there is what they have to factor in Aiyuk, Williams and Purdy

I wasn’t implying that they weren’t screwed eventually but it’s still a couple years down the road before they start hemorrhaging talent because of it. Plus the cap is expected to go up again.
