No team does what the player wants, if they can get more value for him from another team (especially if he has only been with them for three years). That would be irresponsible. He wanted Pittsburgh and Chicago honored his wish.

They often do. Because otherwise they player can make his feelings known and his intentions to do exactly what Reddick is doing right now...and it kills the deal.No team does what the player wants, if they can get more value for him from another team (especially if he has only been with them for three years). More likely they don't want to work with him and his unreasonable contract demands. They see no point in investing time and money with no return insight. IMOWhat a strange way to retire.
Indication that it's Reddick holding this up, not the Jets or trade partners.Adam Schefter (@adamschefter) on Threads

No doubt this is a bad look for this dude who’s wasting one of the last remaining prime years of his career and high contract value. What a strange way to retire.
toss 'em a 6th and sign him to a 3 year 58 million dollar contract and lets win the f'g divisioni think there is a real possibility that every NFL owner is content to let this play out on principal--
said differently -- no owner is going to show up, throw a draft pick at the Jets and give Hasaan the contract he wants ---
simply to send a message to the players that this behavior wont be rewarded
Agreed. His contract demands must be crazy.Indication that it's Reddick holding this up, not the Jets or trade partners.
Not sure what his plan is here. If he sits out an entire year (10 games out, 2-3 games to get ready and then half effort in 4 games) he would no doubt get less in the open market.
You’re also talking about three of the worst franchises in the league with the Cards/Panthers/Jets involved in that equation. You have to wonder if there are locker room issues with him. This is his 4th team in 5 seasons. AZ let him walk after a great 4th year and now the Jets won't give in to his demands after he averaged 12.5 sacks a year the last 5 seasons.
But the Eagles traded him away after two great seasons instead of paying him. You’re also talking about three of the worst franchises in the league with the Cards/Panthers/Jets involved in that equation.
Especially since his name is misspelled in the thread titlePetition to rename the thread Chronicles of Reddick.
Even better, if you played the game, Chronicles of Reddick: Escape from Hudson Bay
It's that $30milBut the Eagles traded him away after two great seasons instead of paying him.
