Yeah, he probably is.

Kyzir White
Roy Lopez
Baron Browning
LJ Collier Scratch Collier. They will let him be a FA.
Evan Brown

not sure that is the exact order of importance but those are the players who had big roles in 2024. One thing to consider is if the Cardinals will be active in FA, extensions for these players is more important because you likely will not get comp picks back.

I think Collier returns. He's been pretty solid. Vet min though.

I think Evan Brown is a higher priority than Browning (expecting Ojulari to come back, maybe they like Xavier Thomas more Year 2, and probably drafting an edge) or anyone else. Interior OL were getting crazy money last season and likely to be hot commodities again this year.

Lopez and Collier are as replacement-level as it comes.

I've been thinking they let Brown go. Adams has been solid for a rookie and I'd think he'd be at least be as good as Brown in year 2.

Not really. It's taking $8m out of this year's vap that was due to roll over to save $8m on next year's, but it's the same either way.
But then that would essentially make it a 15m a year instead of 18.

I disagree with your assessment of Adams but even then you want more than two guards.

Also, with Jones and Pascal being FAs, and Dortch being a restricted FA, I am guessing we will see some change to the WR room.
Have Pascal and Jones played 200 offensive snaps between them this year? Neither are much-involved in the offense.

No 4th WR is going to get many snaps in this offense with how often we have three TEs in the game. Last game we even had about a half dozen plays with three TEs AND an extra lineman.

Can we please get rid of our horrid DT FA signings from last season to keep Collier? Yeah, pipe dream, but those signings have really hurt the D and will continue to hurt the development of the D.

Take away this year (and who the hell cares how much we roll over into 2025 when we already have a ton of cap room) and the contract is essentially 2 years, 15 mil per year with a void year of 3 mil in 2027.

Such a weird thing to gripe about.

I don't see them stacking a DL room with a lower level DT unless they aren't going to add a solid FA DT and then draft one as well. Also, I don't think Collier gets a min deal.
I could see them giving Collier $8-10MM AAV on a two- or three-year deal and feeling good about that and a draft pick going into 2025.

We're Cardinal fans. It's part of our makeup to gripe about weird things.

The 215
The half healthy season we saw from Rodney Hudson was the best C play we had in my 25+ years as a fan.

Froholdt is above average without being great. But you HAVE to love his style of play.
This is absolute fact Bach. I FORGOT about that. He was utterly amazing and we felt it when he went down.

Signing leaders while the young guys are developing is a big morale boost for them.

It lets them know if they play lights out they will be rewarded by an organization that appreciates them.

Signing Budda and JC were culture building moves.

Glad to see it.
Imperative for this team. If we're truly building something, this is what you wanna see.

Maybe. We only have three EDGE players under contract for 2025 right now, Collins, Ojulari, and Thomas. That said, Brown, Colon, and Hernandez are all FAs as well.

Both positions are going to need bodies.

I would be disappointed but I agree that I could see Monti thinking that is a good plan.

Definitely do not see re-signing Collier AND signing another DL in FA.

Luketa is under contract or an RFA

As much as it sucks, it does matter, because expecting Monti to spend bucket loads of money under the cap next year isn't realistic. The less cap he spends this season will lead to less of it spent overall. There is no way we're going to use all our cap flexibility next season as it is.
Exactly my point. What's the difference if it's on this year's cap vs next year's. It's exactly the same. If you have 10 mil left over this year and 100 mil next year. It's 110 mil combined. it doesn't matter I'm the grand scheme. Six in one hand half a dozen in the other.

The tonne of cap room next year includes roll over from this year. It's the same money.

One of the interesting thing about Baker’s contract is the reduced cap in 2025. I think this might indicate the Cards are going all in for 2025.
