The only Dallas Cowboy with any redeeming qualities. I'd be over the moon.
I think he and Lamb are their two best players. Zach Martin was elite at one point, but is probably in his last year before retiring. cowboys look far removed from being a contender so I would sell. but honestly as a cowboys fan I don't care anymore. I'm done supporting them until Jerry Jones is out of the picture. he has ruined that organization and only cares about himself and making money.

If we were to get Garrett, and we won’t, it would throw this team into the national spotlight. It would ignite the fanbase. It could make this defense much better AND be a part of it for the foreseeable future.
It would be like it was when we signed Watt only much better.
But, alas.

It would be like when Chicago traded for Khalil Mack.

He's only 28. I don't think they are looking to offload him.

Conner and Baker, both have contracts ending this year. I've been hearing national buzz about teams wanting them, now. I don't think Monti will bite, but I have no idea what they are offering, or if not traded, will some team offer more than we will pay? Teams have been known to offer crazy contracts to former Cards. Nah, we'll trade for an edge and get Darius back soon and all will be well in Glendale.

It's the new Cardinals. The times they are a-changin'.
Conner is a big reason I enjoy watching the Cards, he needs to be extended and not traded. Baker has made the turn downward, I'm OK trading him

Definitely on Conner but I’ve developed a new found luv for the Budda man. Budda’s passion is really lifting the defense.

Jalen would be a good piece to trade and has value around the league.

Bill Barnwell is suggesting Harold Landry as a possibility. I think it is only speculation, and I have also brought him up some weeks ago, because it just make sense. Ossenfort know him well, and Titans are probably more than willing to sell.

I think Za'Darius Smith has plenty left and I'm not particularly bothered about age. For me age is overblown, I'm more concerned about injury history and level of play, both of which are fine for him. And he should still be playing well near on a reasonable deal.

But, I'm not sure this is a Monti move. He's shown no interest in aging vets in two offseasons. It's possible that the state of our D line, limited options and being 4-4 changes that, but we will see, but giving up a 4th for a limited time rental doesn't fit his pattern so far.

I think Smith goes to the Falcons, Lions or Commanders.

Monti has shown a desire to avoid adding established NFL players who can actually contribute. He prefers adding those that do little and then get injured.

Obviously sarcasm, but in reality Monti is batting about .500 when it comes to adding free agents. Evan Brown, Froholdt, Kyzer White, and Mack Wilson Jr. have been good, but Bilal Nichols, Justin Jones, Murphy-Bunting Jr, and Zay Jones...not so much.

I might add that I think he needs to do better on free agency, but the "recency effect" with this year's free agents skews his performance to the bad, really bad.

Spot on here, @Card'em. Add to that "recency effect" that he didn't utilize FA near as much as he needed to, and it looks even worse.

I think this is somewhat fair. I think when you seem to make every addition about character, hard work and "love of football", seemingly at the expense of talent, you open yourself up to this.

In my opinion every good player in the league works hard and loves football, you can't be good in the NFL without them. The character I really couldn't care less about as long as they aren't a negative in the locker room.

Landry is super interesting.. since I assume his cap number for us would only be salary, he’s under contract at $17.5M for 2025 and 2026, which seems reasonable for a good pass rusher. He’d no doubt want a new contract before then, perhaps after next season, but it would give us time to see how he fits before committing longer term.

A writer** (no idea if this writer is Mitch -type or a real journalist) that covers the Jags suggested that Travon Walker could be dealt

Walker is the former #1 pick (ahead of Hutchinson) who has been very good but not great. 10 sacks last year, 6.5 so far this year. Signed through 2025 and with a fifth year option available.

Jags dont have a compelling cap reason to trade him now-- maybe (a giant maybe) they dont want to pay Josh Allen AND Walker at the same time, but if this were next year at this time i would get why they might want to trade him.

IF the Jags were up for it -- this would be an outstanding pick up (with commensurate draft pick comp needed).
