yeah... but Kyler lofted it to give Marv time to get over there. great pass scrambling backwards..not perfect, but if Marv didnt get it nobody was getting it
No doubt. Its why he was a 4th overall pick. MHJ played great against the Dolphins.

Everything I had issues with seemed to disappear.
- Catch with hands
- No easy drops
- Know the plays and where to line up
- Get separation
- Play with intensity

I asked earlier if it was much ado about nothing about his play and it probably was.

there was a noticeable difference in Kylers ball placement with Marv... he stopped throwing it right to him and instead threw either high or lead him out a couple yards... made Marv extend for the catch,...so no more body catches....cuts down on drops because the ball doesn't bounce off your pads and such...I see that as a direct result of Kyler taking Marv aside and asking him what he likes...but it does seem Marv has in issue extending his arms and catching a ball thats heading directly at him...something to work around

I'm sure he will

But he needs to works on his hands and practice over and over
Agreed. I think it’s less about hands for the catch though and more about boxing out with his body, attacking the ball and then locking onto it beyond the initial split second of the catch. I trust the kid’s heart, drive and ethic to get there but I wish he’d get whatever it takes to speed up the process.

They were all over him like glue today with excellent coverage. How were his hands "weak"? The balls he didn't come down with were extremely difficult. Bears defense is extremely solid against the pass unless it's a hail Mary

That fumble is on him and it sucked, but I hated that we completely locked him out of the game after that until the 4th.

This guy sucks, we need to stop makin excuses. The dude was crowned way too early, WR highest bust rate of any position.

Doesnt mean he wont ever amount to anything but he is significantly worse than the next 3 WRs drafted thats for sure.

Hes soft, way too soft

Funny because I've been on him all year but I can't be too mad today. The fumble it happens, Conner had a similar fumble a couple of weeks ago, that Peanut punch out thing has been happening for years now.

The long ball breakup to me was just a great play by the DB.

I think the main thing today was almost every time I saw Marv in the game, he drew a double team. I think it has something to do with why we're able to run the ball so well, we are in the 2 or 3 TE sets and teams are doubling Marv, and they're worried about Kyler running, so it's like they have 2 less guys to defend the run game to the RB.

Fumble was bad and the long pass should have been caught. You get hit after catching the ball and the good receivers hang on to those.

Not there at all but also imagine they go WR WR DL next pick. Worthy or Legette as your 2....

My first guess was Keon Coleman cause of his production. He's actually the more physical jump ball WR. That lets MHJ do more crossers, etc. However, Worthy/Legette (in theory) gives the team what its desperately missing. Speed. Speed to make life easier for MHJ to get space.

I wanted to move up for Brian Thomas Jr as well despite so many here talking me out of taking two WRs/hating the idea. Speed demon opposite MHJ.

What Monti did was "right" though. Hope DROB is good. Newton/Fiske have really started to come on.

This is funny. The only you are catching a ball when the DBs arm is between your arms is if you can shift it to one hand. That is why they teach DBs to get their arms in that position.

You can argue that he should have high pointed the ball to avoid that and try to draw a penalty, but this is a stretch.

I thought the fumble was more of a good defensive play and less of a bad play by MHJ. It was a bang bang play.

And, I thought the long pass was also really good defense. On this play it was a very good ball from Murray, but not perfect. Could have led MHJ about another foot. But not very good separation either.

Kind of an unlucky game for Harrison but he'll be back.

You're a long way from the Horseshoe rookie! :)

Well then get ready for many more fumbles. A defender attempting to chop the ball out happens all the time. MHJ needs to have that ball tucked away. Hopefully a lesson for him.

Good post. I see all kinds of guys getting the ball punched out lately.

They were both good defensive plays.
