I am thinking more playoffs. The Suns are going to get out muscled come playoff time without more size.
If Beal and Durant are going to be in and out of the lineup, then we need to put points in the bucket. At the end of the day, you win by scoring more points.

With the both of them down for the count, that's like 45 points per game missing from the lineup. I don't care who your bench is, you're not going to win many games with only one post-20 point scorer and a bunch of guys that struggle to score 10.

we're not getting out muscled tho - we're getting out hustled
Yep, I get that. However, the playoffs are going to run though bigger teams IMO. We are middle of the road ranked #15 in status related to size (i.e. rebounding). Where with scoring we are 17th but that is skewed because of Durant, Beal being out. Book not being Book. In other words, we will crack the top 10 easily again in scoring when healthy. I don't think we are going to make much movement with our lack of size in other categories. Naturally you can never have enough scoring but I think that isn't going to be a problem when healthy.

It's both. The Suns are getting out hustled and out muscled.

This Suns team needs some passion. The Joe Cool approach is getting old.

Don't know if there is one available but they should target a PF. We need more size.

It's hard to find a trade that works, as the Suns cannot combine salaries in an outgoing trade and can't take more money back than they send out.

The only thing that makes sense is a player nearing the end of their rookie deals, in terms of incoming players. If that team doesn't want to resign them or doesn't believe they can then perhaps a trade makes sense. Of course they'd need a wing in return because that's basically all we have to deal. Okogie, Grayson, and Royce are likely the 3 most available pieces we have. Not worth guessing the order since they all offer something different in terms of skill set as well as salaries, now and later.

It's hard to find many attractive 4/5s that fit the salaries the Suns have to use in trade.

Conceivably, Phoenix could take a couple of players back if their total salaries do not exceed the salary of the Suns player being traded.

Even then, it's hard to find a rotation player. Ironically, the Suns might be looking to find another Jalen Smith type of player.

His thighs say otherwise.

Allen's bicep and shoulder muscles look much larger this season.

This is what caught my attention more so than him carrying more weight. IMO, this could have impacted his shooting.

I've gone through salary lists to find someone and found few attractive options. That's part of why I suggested Olynyk the other day.ams.also Zack Collins. I do like Collins but when he stands out as the top player we could acquire based on the salaries we can trade, if isn't looking promising.

Jalen Smith would come in handy right now. I'm trying not to get hopeful as far as young players who might be eligible because we need more luck for a similar scenario to play out. He'd make a good candidate himself but JJ would be admitting too many mistakes by aquiring him again. Maybe Torrey Craig needs a job?

I'd like to know 2-3 guys the Suns plan to target because I don't see it looking at qualifying players. I know resigning guys solely to trade them isn't a great idea and could be quite expensive. I'm starting to wonder if someone screwed up though since Royce and Okogie each make 10-20% less annually than most rotation bigs. Grayson makes enough to cover some but no one in the 6th man/borderline starter category he occupies now as a guard/wing.

We have probably been going through the same list of players and getting the same results. I don't want to trade Nurkic for Zach Collins, though. The Suns need all the big men they can get. However, Allen for Olynyk should work, but he is already 33.

I'm in agreement, it's looking like the Suns may have underestimated the dollar amount of the contracts needed.

I couldn't even find a good trade for Daniel Theis anticipating the Suns might take back another player.
