I actually like Beal and think when he is available can be a contributor. My problem is he messes up the rotation because Booker and Beal are redundant in the starting lineup, makes us smaller and it hurts us in the paint. Not to mention Beal is made of glass with a massive contract.

I think the move to the bench is good for the team but Beal doesn’t appear to be happy about it.

To his credit, Beal does try to defend in the paint. He simply doesn't have the size or physique, although it's probably less of a problem off the bench.

Good win. Can they be +.500 ovet the next 9 games? Haven't looked at the schedule, but it is more interesting now with an actual bench (Beal) and some life in the starting unit (1st and 3rd quarters).

The next nine games are winnable except the game at the Cavaliers on January 20th. Of course, the good version of the Suns has to show up.

Beal is useless in the paint if he tries or not because if exactly what you said...his size and physique. Our paint play is at the bottom of the league.

I was commenting on Beal's effort, not whether he is a capable defender in the paint.

He does put forth the effort, but the problem is, he simply doesn't have the size or build to do it consistently.

Offensively, I like how Beal can get to the basket. He is one of the few Suns who can finish there.

They won it, first by sufficient energy on D, and second by moving the ball without much of feeding to KD or Book for iso plays. Book played well except for shooting, but both KD and Beal made their catch-n-shoot 3s and scored efficiently in a flowing offense, mainly off Book's ball handling.
Coach Bud seemed to go more merit based rotation now. Tyus played only 20 min due to Monte and Book's better play in PG role. etc. I like it.

We are saying the same thing. Although the Suns are last in layups and dunks in the NBA so he isn't helping that much on the offensive side in the paint. On the other end it's also abysmal and only 11 teams are worse defensively in the paint. We are one of the worst paint teams in the NBA on either side. We are basically a pure jump shot team and nobody is intimidated by Nurk on the other end either.

That goes back to what both of us have been screaming for. FC help!

Only Royce O'Neale is on the injury report.

Yeah, Dunn fits better as a defender and rebounder. Plus not needing the ball, it's less turn overs.
