Not sure what this means for ASU, given that SMU kept it close. But an SMU win would have been worse. We will see the field tomorrow morning!
There’s literally no way they can give it to SMU, but they could still screw ASU and give it to Clemson. But that would be an absolute sham to give a 3 loss team who’s ranked below ASU that last bye.I have to believe this will lift ASU into the bye. There's no way they can give it to either Clemson or SMU.
They should be but since its the ncaa I wouldn't be surprised if they did something stupid. There is no doubt they are in.
I guess we don't know what bribes may be being passed around. But to give Clemson, or even worse, Penn St a Bye over ASU or Boise immediately makes the new format bullfeces. There’s literally no way they can give it to SMU, but they could still screw ASU and give it to Clemson. Bama will make it over SMU.. the money always winsThere is no doubt they are in.
Penn st can't get a bye. The bye can only be given to conference winnersI guess we don't know what bribes may be being passed around. But to give Clemson, or even worse, Penn St a Bye over ASU or Boise immediately makes the new format bullfeces.
Such an exciting college football day. Could ASU play in the Fiesta Bowl?

Ummm... SMU does have money. Booster paid $200 million to cover their move to the ACC.Bama will make it over SMU.. the money always wins
I don’t think they can give Penn St, a bye. The first four with byes have to be conference champions… I think.I guess we don't know what bribes may be being passed around. But to give Clemson, or even worse, Penn St a Bye over ASU or Boise immediately makes the new format bullfeces.

I don't see how any team that lost their final game could possibly get one of the byes. Nor should any three loss team. So that eliminates SMU, Penn State, Clemson, Texas, Ohio State.I guess we don't know what bribes may be being passed around. But to give Clemson, or even worse, Penn St a Bye over ASU or Boise immediately makes the new format bullfeces.

Yeah, that's correct. Also, why Notre Dame can't get a bye.I don’t think they can give Penn St, a bye. The first four with byes have to be conference champions… I think.
Miami is out regardless. They were ranked 12 and with Clemson winning they are outBama was always making it. It's going to be Miami or SMU. I think Miami edges in

Yup. This tournament set up may finally force ND to change… or they’ll throw a buttload of money at the NCAA to somehow fix that “flaw” like they did the BCS.Also Notre Dame has to figure if they are good with being a forever 5-10 seed. You want to play for a bye, join a conference
They are probably fine with it since they can keep all the money they make from bowl games, merchandise, tv contract deals, etcAlso Notre Dame has to figure if they are good with being a forever 5-10 seed. You want to play for a bye, join a conference
Texas will be 5 seed imoBye is only for conference championship. Notre Dame or Penn St as the 5 seed is going to be a real look.
The college football playoff has already made Conference Championship Day feel a little like the Madness.
Win and you’re in games for the Boise’s and ASU’s and Clemson pulling off getting in also.
Why it took college football so long to do this is one of sports greatest mysteries.
I'm not sure how Miami (ranked 12) would beat out Alabama (rank 11) without either of them playing a game. Alabama would be more likelyI will say as a Methodist, I don't think Southern Methodist University has a chance against the U. Maybe I get proven wrong but I think SMU is out and Miami is in
