The Trail Blazers have received trade interest on Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Robert Williams, per
@ShamsCharania.Portland could receive a large amount of assets to accelerate their rebuilding efforts, if they made all three available on the market.

I guess Ayton being available goes without saying?

Yes! Do this. Josh Okogie, $8.25 million. Salaries work! :)

We don't need another middling SF. I'm no fan of Okogie either and would prefer he's dealt since his offense is more inconsistent than this year's team is as a whole. Cody Martin is not the answer.

I don't think we have a draft thread if this belongs somewhere else feel free to move.

So AJ Dybantsa announced for BYU. He's the best US prospect since LeBron, Flagg was a few months ago and Cooper has been really good at Duke but apparently NBA scouts now doubt he's as good a shooter as they had hoped 44% overall 24 from 3 and 69 FT has NBA teams saying he might not shoot it well enough.

Dybantsa picked BYU because Ryan Smith the CEO of Qualtrics is a BYU alum, a billionaire, and reportedly will pay him 7 million, 5 upfront, to play at BYU. In fact Dybantsa moved his whole family to Utah for his senior year of HS allegedly to see if he could handle living there before going to BYU. When he announced, he said I want to thank my sisters for going along with moving to Utah, was pretty funny how he said it.

kid looks great, bigger than Flagg, just as bouncy, they think a better shooter and right now the consensus guy to be #1 in his draft. Apparently scouts are saying if he were in the same draft as Flagg he'd go first. In fact I saw something the other day that said Flagg might go 3rd behind Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey of Rutgers

I feel like people forget just how hyped Oden was. He and Lebron are the most hyped prospects I've seen, and behind them is Wiggins (to be fair, not an American).

Maybe you're going with "best" and not the most "hyped", but when it comes to huge press about guys that are still in high school, this guy is the best prospect of his class but not even close to one of the most hyped up guys in the last 20+ years. Oden was christened the evolutionary David Robinson while he was 2 years from even going to college.

One of the funnier ones played for your boys, Shabazz. I remember people talking about how teams would tank for him while he was 2 years out... then it turned out his dad lied about his age.

Yeah Oden was pretty good too probably fair to say very hyped.

Bazz I never got, I knew he'd be a good college player but if you saw him even in HS it was obvious his game was about power and he just wasn't big enough or athletic enough. His last year of HS his lower body got thicker, and then yeah we found out they lied about his age too. That's the one that always ticked me off a UCLA fan, no idea if true but the word has always been Coach K and Duke were convinced he was going there, when he picked UCLA, both Duke and UNC reported him to the NCAA. The alleged violations(at the time) all involved Duke and UNC boosters, NOT UCLA, but they were trying to get him declared ineligible because Coach K was mad he didn't pick Duke.

He very likely shouldn't have been eligible but he was far from the only kid getting paid at the time so it really ticked me off Coach K did that. It's why I never understood how Duke stayed as the popular school for recruits, between Will Avery and Bazz, Coach K revealed he was quite willing to screw a kid over, but to this day everyone wants to play for Duke.

Teams have recently checked in on the trade availability of Nick Richards. The Hornets’ center is averaging career-highs at 11.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.Under contract for the next two seasons at $5 million annually, Richards could help a contender as a backup big.

To be honest, it seems like just about every couple years since Lebron, there's another guy the media (ESPN, mostly) tries to build up as the "next (or better)" Lebron.

Just off the top of my head, I remember Oden, Ricky Rubio, Jabari Parker, A. Wiggins, R.J. Barrett, Marvin Bagley, Luka, Zion, Wemby, Flagg, and now Dybantsa as all being hailed at one point or another as the same level of "transformational" talents as Lebron.

Doncic turned out to be good, maybe Wemby will be the same. The rest have mostly ranged from just okay to busts. Media hype in sports has become a plague.

They need shooting and we need size. A deal involving Grayson for Obi Toppin works financially. We'd probably need a pair of 2nd's to even that out. That gives us an an athletic PF/C and them a floor spacing SG/SF.

Make it happen @Germz249 ! Tell the Waffle House staff.

I am on it! Trying to make this Jimmy Butler trade happen also.

talk about tough finishes. Warriors up 1 with the ball Steph misses, the long rebound comes out to Payton who in a fight for the ball dives on the floor and passes to Kuminga. The ball is rolling on the floor, Kuminga, Jalen Green and then Looney all dive on the ball and the ref calls a foul on Kuminga with 3 seconds left. Green makes both FT's Houston wins.

Kerr said it after the game, that's not a foul, if it IS a foul, then they fouled Payton before he passed the ball because there's just as much contact there as there was with Green.

But another blown lead by the Warriors

Hopefully this works. There IS contact at the end by Kuminga on Green but well after they would normally have either called a jump ball, or given Green the timeout he's clearly calling for. And if that's a foul on Kuminga, then how is it not a foul on Van Vleet against Payton?

I just typed and scrubbed several versions of a post that would probably be my most negative ever.

I don't want to crap on everything but, man... we're in a horrendous position.

I don't even see how we can do a fire sale, I also think, if we forced it, it would only make our situation more embarrassing.

That's just a dumb shot with 9 seconds left in the shot clock and with a 1 point lead.

I think we can survive a fire sale. IMO our best chance is a complete rebuild without much regard when it comes to the compensation we recieve and to forget about the teams that will feast because we suck and they have our picks. Just clear the books, use our cap space and become a professional facilitator for a couple of years. It's not going to happen quickly but every day we delay pushes us further away from relevance. Take our lumps by midseason and hopefully within a couple of years we can start to look like a brand new expansion team, weak but finally, once again, with the possibility of a future.

That’s where I’m at. Getting rid of everyone but Booker makes no sense when he’s the one who can bring back the most value, while giving us very little benefit if he stays.

Also, watching Booker lead us to 25-35 wins isn’t just pointless… it’s boring. Smart teams sell high when they know their future is doomed.

Getting first Chris Paul and then KD was the franchises attempt at saving a Booker run with this team. They knew he couldn't get it done without another star by his side. So, shedding Beal, KD and not getting another star in here does NOTHING towards that end. If you blow up the team you need to blow up the TEAM.

I don’t know if I am ready to accept 5 years of 10 win seasons, giving up the top pick to another team each time.

I also think moving KD for anything of value is going to be almost impossible.
